In which case they could win the league at St Mary's against Portsmouth?

Keynsham midweek and Plymouth next weekend both before the Pompey game.

Keynsham should be a simple win, and Plymouth don't exactly look much better.

Would be nice to get it wrapped up asap, like Wolves have done today. They are just waiting to see who they will play for promotion now.

Saints v Wolves? Looking likely, but a one off game to decide it is crazy!

Where is the playoff played? Neutral venue? Or two-legged?

Spare a thought for poor Hounslow.

It must be tough to motivate yourself to train, travel and play when you're getting hammered that badly game after game.

Might actually travel up for the game on the 20th if it can seal the league for the ladies. Shame it's in the middle of a working day, if it was an early evening kick off they might get a decent attendance.

Yeah I did question the BBC website about 3 weeks ago, but it did have 2pm then, which was strange. It seems to be updated now. 👍

It's going to be hard on whichever club loses that one. Another year doing well in the league below. But in our case still with Ipswich and Oxford (at least) looking to be the one with the chance next time round.

Crazy.

It looks like the women's championship is a division of 12 which is randomly small anyway, of that one team gets promoted and one relegated,  looking at the current table Liverpool are comfortable winners and Coventry relegated so the rest of the division is just playing out dead rubbers. Pointless football.

Top flight also only has 12 teams with one relegated, why so small and protectionist? Allow movement between divisions creates more competition and incentive for those in the lower divisions to improve.

Saints can "win" the league at home to Pompey, thinking of taking my daughter as school holidays but hardly seems worth celebrating as its worth nothing unless they beat Wolves as well.

You only have to look at the top 5 teams in the top flight to answer your question.

They would love it if the men's game was as exclusive too.

Don't think you'll have long to wait-they'll be back with new proposals .

Really enjoyed game at Totton yesterday-despite the  gulf in abilities of the two teams.

Yep make it an exclusive club , I'm still surprised more fuss wasn't made when they allowed Man Utd to create a team and go straight into the top flight, competition has no integrity when you allow things like that.

Trouble is after years of massively living in the shadow of the men’s game, the quantity of teams able to put together a quality team is quite thin, most of the England team is made up from the top teams in the WSL. The men’s game in the top 4 divisions is very well established but has been going for over 100 years, the women’s game is, obviously, massively playing catch up due to the more recent inclusivity agenda.
Unlike the men’s league set up where the feeble attempt to shut the stable door after the horse had bolted with FFP - the women’s game has financial solvency rules, and a few years back in the teams had to show they could attract at least 400 spectators.
The whole thing looks harsh when you are in ours and Wolves positions - but the step up to the championship is a bit more precarious than jumping from the National League into League 2 in the men’s game. Sustainability seems to be the overriding factor.
Maybe a Women’s National League will evolve at some point to provide 2 up 2 down. But in Saints men’s own history we declined being promoted to a higher league once or twice, simply because the bean counters had done the maths of every other week heading invariably north beyond London, the travel expenses alone would have put Saints out of business

I thought Lewes Town getting the jump on us for a Championship spot in the same process, was seemingly more galling. Man U is Man U they get special treatment - whatever.

I watched a video with many similar clips recently. That bizarre Chelsea vs Barca goal is in every one of them. The one I saw had a Man City clip in it from earlier this season.

I had seen the game. City were struggling, and had their 3rd choice keeper in. A kick out and backpass went badly wrong, resulting in a goal. I remember thinking that Salisu had got away with just such a horrible backpass, not long before. Nearly in a clip montage itself. He just had enough physical strength to save himself.

Could be playing some of these teams soon, given our lofty position.

though you would have picked up on that. I was wrong it seems.

Which ones? The American ones or the Vietnamese ones?

Would you post random compilations of mens football from around the world in other threads?

So Wolves will be the opponents in the National League Final Play off if Saints  make it.

Venue -so approximately equidistant stadium easily reached convenient for both sets of fans?. Yep, you guessed it.

Stockport County 21st May.

They're having a laugh aren't they.

Have all year to plan a game they know will be between North v South and they want you to believe the ONLY place available is STOCKPORT haha

That is so unbelievably tinpot. Really hope they get promoted to the Championship so they don't have to bumble around in this division for another year.

About the only thing I can think in their defence is that the game is going to be played much later than would have been originally scheduled due to all of the postponements. Many grounds will be closed for summer refurbishments. But that's a feeble excuse. With due respect Stockport County are not even a full member club (haven't checked if they have a Ladies team), was supposed to be held at a Professional Stadium. Still,  sure that Saints will win, whatever the venue.

I’m actually off on the 20th.

Where is this game vs Pompey?

St Mary’s or Totton?

Also if they make it to the championship would that be one league below the main one or is this the main one which is getting great publicity?
