Congrats. Got a clean sheet.

Looked solid with aerial crosses for once.

Lucky their striker couldn't finish a roast dinner though on a couple of occasions.

I've said it before, he has crisp packet hands and wrists.

He frequently dives late. It's almost comical, like he's been instructed to do so to take the piss out of us.

His attempt at diverting the header for the first goal to safety was comfortably one of the worst parries I've ever witnessed.

I swear the bloke must be some sort of Portsmouth spy sent to fuck us over.

Has he cast a spell on the people in charge? If they were lazy, all they would have to do is look at the raw data about his shot-stopping ability.

Terrible.

As long as we persist with him in goal, we will let in most shots on goal. Doesn't matter if we play Russball or Stillball. He reacts so slow. We will need to score more than 2-3 goals most matches to get draws and wins, and as horrible as we are on the pitch right now... this is gonna hurt!

Again? Surely not. We are so unlucky. Has anyone considered buying someone better?

It’s honestly got to the point where I’m starting to think the bloke has a contract clause that means he is guaranteed to start. I can’t wrap my head round it otherwise, he’s fucking shite and if he’s doing it in matches you can bet he’s doing it in training. That many managers and coaches can’t be blind to something so obvious surely.

Worst GK in the league two years ago. And the worst GK in the league this year. Not exactly a surprise is it.

Is there really any point debating this fool anymore?

He's an absolute abomination of a goalkeeper - this is from my eyes, not from stats. That first goal was a disgrace and I'd drop him for that.

The club massively ballsed up on two things in the summer - thinking George Long is all we needed as GK competition, and giving Jack fricking Stephens, Captain Supremo, a 3 year contract.

Those two decisions right there will make the new signings almost null and void.

Which is why I appreciate your post about Will Still and agree that last season was bound to be damaging but I’m 100% certain Will Still is NOT the answer.

And for the reasons you’ve put here. No DoF working with me makes those two decisions. Or they get a blast in public if they did it regardless.
So he’s either a piss weak yes man (SR speciality) or as I suspect more, he has a dreadful lack of judgement. I cannot believe that Bazunu suddenly turns into Gordon Banks in training.

I just don't see the answer in swapping out a manager after 6 games, and especially when it's SR who would appoint the next one.

He may well be a yes man, but as long as SR are in charge, all we'll appoint are yes men - so getting rid of him doesn't really change anything, we'd just pivot to someone worse.

We've got to give him a chance to try to reset what went before. But the core problem at this club isn't necessarily Bazunu, Stephens or Will Still - it's Sports Republic and what their muddy hands have done to us.

I broadly agree on the club and SR - only prospect of any sustained improvement is them selling - but there’s no pattern of play whatsoever, Bazunu is still in goal and the defence looks every bit as bad as when Martin was here. Midfield doesn’t exist. There’s nothing to build on. Someone like Carrick knows the division and should stop the worst of the stupid goals. And stops the successive relegation we are on the way to.

He’s fucking dogshit.  Should not be making a living from the game.  Absolutely criminal that he’s our first-choice keeper.

Even if he did fuck dogshit, most of it would drop limply on the pavement.

Gloves would be clean though.

I still can't get my head round how shit he was for that first goal today. The header has no power in it whatsoever, but his reactions are so mind bogglingly bad that by the time he got down he had no chance of making what should have been an easy catch, and just threw his hands at it in a blind panic with absolutely no idea where it would end up.

I've seen better keepers than him at my local 5 a side centre.

It really does beggar belief how someone at Saints decided he was worth the £12m we paid for him.

If there is a massive hole in the ship, vis a vis Bazunu, everyone gets wet.

Hopefully McCarthy will have a blinder against Liverpool reserves on Tuesday and make it virtually impossible not to pick him next Saturday.

And no, I cannot believe I’ve written the above sentence, it just shows what a shitshow this club has become !!

Haven't seen the goals from today yet but I see people are unimpressed. Not sure why anyone is surprised. He's been the worst keeper in the league every season he's played for us.

Exactly. They don’t have the credit in the bank to be making more catastrophic lack of judgement errors like thinking yet again that Bazunu is fine as number 1. He’s synonymous with these charlatans unfortunately as one of their first key decisions was hanging their hat on him being the future of our goalkeeping department.

If SR take us down as far as the National League - if Solak really wants to rub it in on behalf of Milan Mandaric - Bazunu would still be the worst keeper in that division.

Only consolation of his latest Frank Spencer display is that even Spors might actually think twice about giving the Irish Tommy Forecast a new contract.

Oh he will though. Because there's no way SR are going to let him leave on a free after the amount they've invested in him. So we'll undoubtedly give him a 2-3 year extension in the vain hope that he will improve over that time* and we can recoup some of that £12m.

* which of course he won't, because so fundamental are his flaws, like reaction time and positional sense, that no amount of experience or coaching is ever going to improve those aspects of his game.

It’s a bit like Barings Bank doing the same with Nick Leeson - ‘we sent him on all of those regulatory banking and ethics courses he ignored, but after the prison sentence it’ll be alright’.

Nick Leeson. Wasn’t he recruited by Rupert Lowe ? Probably the most damaging he ever made if so.

At least he didn’t leave his worst appointments until he came tonSaints. Or perhaps he did.

Macca already played a blinder in the last round against Norwich. He made 3 or 4 really good saves, of the kind that Bazunu never does, and was of course promptly dropped for the next league game.

That was bizarre. Either Still has appalling judgement or he’s wet behind the ears and told by the SR board to play Bazunu.
