Incredibly harsh on Charles who had done ok this season, to be left out for a bloke who has only turned up in one game. People are forgetting quite how bad Downes has been before yesterday. 

Downes wasn’t playing in by far our worst performance of the season last Saturday, but Charles was. All season last time round in the Championship people were saying how great Charles was but the results when he played weren’t a coincidence. If he could sit behind two attacking CM’s and just do the dirty work he’d probably be decent, but he is not quick enough up top to play in this team yet imo.

Players have to put it in during certain games, otherwise they’ll get done 6 or 7. How did we draw with Manchester City, by playing as well as we did every other  week 😂😂. You don’t half come out with some old pony. We lost 9-0 to Leicester, then put in a decent performance at City. It’s well known, players up their game on big occasions, it’s why we have cup shocks. If you think Downes put as much effort in during other games this season, you’re deluded.
