I've been out of the country since 2019 and I lately try and avoid politics now as much as I can. Has it really gotten this bad that Rupert fucking Lowe is being heralded by some as Prime Minister material?

Yes , unfortunately people can't factor in end of empire , broke after WW2 , gradual loss of influence on world stage , lack of industry after exporting it to far east and the final nail , to Putin's and Trump's delight , Brexit to destabilise Europe and reduce GB to a 21st Century irrelevance . Wouldn't live anywhere else though 😄

Mate, this started with Brexit and then open season on visas for all sorts including dodgy colleges and care homes.

That is more to do with developed country birth rate dropping like a stone so to maintain the growth economic model you absolutely need to import labour . Ties of empire also a big factor . This will be taken care of after Brexit as we will have a points system and only let in the skilled people we need .

Still not sure how any saints fan of a certain age could like anything about swing Lowe.

Hated him for us.

But he’s the only politician that’s doing anything useful.

Funding the rape gang inquiry with his own money, gives loads to charity, fights for tax payers over scroungers.

Genuinely the best option by far

People left his rape gang enquiry in protest. The only reason he funded it was political point scoring. He is independently wealthy (in no small part because he fucked over our club) and so again, gives his mp salary to charity so he can score political points against less wealthy mps who can't afford to do so. Your last point makes no sense.

How dare that man help victims of covered up abuse that has been ignored by the establishment for years and donate money to local charities!

The current establishment hates our own people and actively covers up crimes in order to virtue signal.

The last point is the major reason why the country is in terminal decline.

Our benefits bill exceeds our income.

I am done with talking about politics, but Rupert Lowe is what the country needs. If you disagree that’s fine.

To be fair, plenty of them could afford to do what old gammon cheeks does with their MP salary. Instead, they chose not to AND rip off the public purse (Raynor, for example).

Anyway, Rupert is C**T

He's got plenty of support amongst football lads across the country, Palace lads out in Leipzig this week

Back to when we all touched our forelocks to the likes of Rupert and Nigel.

Let’s keep politics off the main football site please. I get frustrated enough seeing gullible folk on twitter harping on about “stop the boats”, no need for it to seep into this forum.

I get bored of reading gullible folk pretending that immigration and rampant government spending aren’t a massive issue.

But at least we agree on not talking politics :)

Afraid so.

Yes, it is possible to link Lowe's reverse takeover, world class radio station, getting a bigger stadium and great catering to future "interestingly leveraged" takeovers, the rise of social media, and pushing for improved fan experiences respectively .

That's not even mentioning getting in the best from other areas to...

hey! what's all this politics stuff here for?!

We'll get moved to the Lounge if we're...never mind...

UK government national debt 1975-2026: (£billion):

1975
£59 billion

1980
£114 billion

1985
£169 billion

1990
£190 billion

1995
£384 billion

2000
£415 billion

2005
£573 billion

2008
£810 billion

2010
£1,220 billion

2015
£1,570 billion

2019
£1,800 billion

2021
£2,224 billion

2023
£2,619 billion

2026
£2,900 billion

An increase of almost £2.5 trillion in just 20 years. A tale of gross economic incompetence by successive UK governments to a point where interest payments on the national debt are now over £100 billion a year - funded by the taxpayer.

Rupert Lowe is the only one that both recognises that this is the cause; and has a coherent idea of how to turn it around.

Will he succeed? Probably not. But at least he will move things in the right direction. Every other party will move us further toward terminal decline imo.

Brexit made the debt much worse.

He thought he had a coherent idea of how to keep Saints out of administration.
