All down to personal taste, and I’m more of a traditionalist, and don’t like seeing what I regard as psychedelic patterns ( Reading this season, or out hideous 2022/3 away kit for example). Palace’s fell into that category.

But credit where it’s due, even with that design, Palace still retained stripes on the back. Why we can’t is beyond me.

I like Palace, and usually WHU, who manage to get club colours into the second shirt. I know why clubs don’t do this but equally how many away games do we not wear redandwhite when there’s no clash.

Another site selling the new shirt. I find the Chinese knock off sites usually pretty spot on. They had a lot of the big clubs new shirts months ago. The only thing if anything that can be wrong is sleeve and main sponsors if they change before the shirts is officially released.

The white collar makes it look crap imo. With a round collar on that, it'd look half decent.

Or she’s giving the kit away in the picture…

Expected better from you.
The megastore only opens on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. It will only be revealed and launched on one of those 3 days.

Kits can be revealed without them instantly being on sale. Plus I did say "maybe", due to her post being vague enough for a number of different meanings.

Or, far more likely those are the days they definitely will not reveal the kit. Because, you know, you have to get the store ready.

More likely to be a Tuesday or Wednesday.

Definitely won’t be a Tuesday. Apart from that gay as fuck thing last year they normally just reveal it and it’s immediately available.
That launch last year went down like a led balloon so would assume they’ll go back to the usual store opens, kit revealed at the same time, come and get it.

Last years launch was a Tuesday. Year before Monday. Year before Wednesday. But yeah fine.

Fascinating.

All before the megastore changed its opening times to Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Far too much white in this kit leak, very poor, the shirters will buy it though.

The original was predominantly white. No excuse for the plain white back though.

So your argument that they club announce the kit on a day the shop is open is based on the fact that up to now the shops were open every day.

That's me told.

Shirters? Have you just made that up?

As is well known, the Shirters were a small, but devout sect of replica kit wearers. They were forced to flee persecution in England, during the "No, colours allowed mate" discriminations, setting up a new home in the USA, and becoming pioneers of MLS.

But did they sail from Southampton or Plymouth ?

Quite simply mugs will buy it. It’s hideous if it’s the one that’s rumoured.

They'll be plenty of "mugs" that won't buy the shirt...

I'm not a shirt-wearer myself (and yep, I've still been called a mug in the past...) so it's not a biggie for me but I prefer to watch my team playing in a kit that doesn't hurt my eyes.

And as football clubs are being ripped off every year by Chinese copies I wouldn't rule it out that some will be deliberately 'leaking' incorrect new kits so that the bootleggers start banging out clearly wrong and obvious fakes.

You do realise it’s a subjective opinion, right? I don’t think the latest link looks as good as the ones first leaked but even so, I don’t mind it. Definitely not hideous anyway.

I would say football clubs are ripping off the fans with the prices of shirts, so no sympathy from me in these times people are going for cheap options.

£60 is a pisstake.

This.

Charging fans £100 for an England shirt that costs a quid to make, and then crying because people buy knocks off is hilarious. Wasn’t it Sheff Weds that threatened to ban fans caught wearing knock offs?

Similar to firesticks and streaming, if a sensible price was charged for the actual product it’d kill the piracy market. Until then long may it continue I say.

I agree, I was just seeing it from the clubs perspective for a moment and how they may counter the fakes.

And if they just charged a reasonable price in the first place then many more fans wouldn't look to send money to China!
