Wood and Stephens.... christ.

I know it’s not a high bar but Stephens has been our best CB this season. Was hoping THB would show his previous Championship form but yet to see it. Quarshie has looked really shaky, Edwards too… sort of process of elimination

But it is played on Football Manager! Hopefully we can move to a back 4 and see if they can actually do the job..!

Yes that's certainly the hope. I still don't think we've figured out the centre back pairing to use though.

Honestly guys I think this season we have won the championship transfer window, has anyone had a better window than us ?

Believe it or not, but Derby fans are absolutely stoked at their window. They say they've had the best window in the football league.

They've signed BBD though, so they may be confused.

Fair to say that Spors and Still have not only brought in good players to replace Fernandes and Dibling, and strengthen the squad overall; they have also weeded out most of the weak links and under performers.  Only Smallbone, should he not move, remains as one the Club should have cashed in on.   Maybe there were not takers outside of the Wrexham bid.    I’d argue that Aribo, should he stay, will be an asset as a squad player, and it’s unlikely he’s burned any bridges.

Aribo will end up in Turkey during September IMO.

Still clinging to the hope that we improve our GK situation but I think I’m going to be disappointed.

Don't see how we can tbh, unless we do a weird thing and terminate Long's loan. We couldn't accommodate 4 senior GK's.

My biggest takeaway from this window is that these have been long term targets and not last minute scrambles. Clearly Still and Spors had these guys in mind from the go and they've gone and get them. What a breath of fresh air after last minute scambles for Tall Paul and BBD.

Is it bloated? Feels like we have/are trimming loads of the squad finally.

Yeah we can expect Bree, Taylor at minimum to depart today.

Edozie, Smallbone and Aribo all up for grabs too.

Should be leaner by the end of the window.

To be fair we play twice a week often in the championship and have a nice carabao cup run so plenty of chance for players to get minutes

I guess sky can't do maths. We've spent around £40m, soon to be 45-46m.

Very underrated and maligned player IMO

Agree, solid and hard-working player in this division. Jonesy will likely get the best out of him.

I don't understand why people are expecting a CB? and to say a partner for wood? WTF?

We have Stephens, THB, Quarshie, Ronnie Edwards, Wood as CB's. There is absolutely no possibility that a CB is even on our radar with those options. In fact we'd probably be open to losing 1.

Stephens isn't anywhere near good enough,Ronnie Edwards does not inspire at all, Quarshie? Not known but I suspect it'll be a slow burner and gradual, THB? If West Ham put enough on the table take it, he's not all that either, we need a 30 year old carthorse who bullies, shouts, fouls and takes yellows for the team. None of the above can do that, they're not leaders, scrappers or fighters.

Chancers? Yes, scrappers no.

Outs - Dibling, Fernandes, BBD, Ramsdale, Taylor, Bree, Taylor, Lumley, Sulemana, Onachu, probably Aribo next week, Lallana retiring, Lesley, Gronbaek, Sugawara, KWP, Larios, ABK, SAA, Bednarek. Possibly Edozie tbc, possibly Smallbone.

Ins - Long, Jander, Mads, Jelert, Fellows, Scienza, Quarshie, Downs, Azaz

Hmm, football isn't all about ''get it in the mixer''   ''Wes Morgan heads it'' type players anymore.

THB is one of the best CB's at this level, proven with ourselves and Burnley. He's our starter.

I don't agree with Jack staying around, but he signed a new contract and the club have backed that one - so he's not going anywhere. Ronnie Edwards was QPR's player of the season at CB last season, he's more than good enough for us. Wood is wood, a bit dumb, but has some physical attributes that a lot of CB's at this level don't have.

That Sky table doesn't include transfers that are reported as undisclosed, even where the value is known. So it's more or less useless.

we've also brought in a lot more

20m combined for TP and Sully

7m Benarek

4m loan fee for Ramsdale

Sam AA about 6m

Fernandes and Dibling depending on what you read 70-80m

So thye're about 35m light

Have the skates not done any business at all? Interesting to see if Leicester do come in for Murphy today.

Fuck it! Let's sack off Still and get Big Sam in whilst we're at it.

I would have liked the profile of players that middle range PL clubs have in their teams aka Brentford, Bournemouth, Palace , big strong athletic and pacy players, who can cope with the exacting standards required to survive the PL (I know we are not there yet).

And the total sales can't be right either. We got nearly that much just for Fernandes and Dibling. What about the money we got for Sulemana, Bednarek, Onuachu and SAA?

Defensively average, offers absolutely nothing going forward.

Apart from crosses and goals. Time will tell, but I suggest that Nathan will bring the best out of him, with a club who do not expect world beaters for 700K

spent about £2m in total on Josh Knight and Mark Koszynovsky. The rest were frees and loans. Sold no one for money.

Apart from the shouting, Wood absolutely does seem that kind of player to be honest, he got his head on a lot the other day. Quarshie also has looked excellent in the air and dominant when players have challenged him with strength. And much as I don't rate him, Cap'n Jack definitely seems the 'fight in an empty room' type of player with his shithousery attempts.

Not sure on Skys math, on the selling front just Dibling , Fernandes and Sulemana is way more than that figure. On another note entirely, it doesn’t look like Pompey have done much in the transfer market in any direction…!

Not expecting world beaters for the fee we paid. Must have missed all those crosses he pinged in though, amount of times I saw him get to the edge of penalty area out wide, just to pass it back infield was a fair few. Possibly due to instructions at the time I grant you.

Just turned SSN on to some Russell Martin clone acting like a right twat at the Spurs training ground. Why do they always have to try and act like everything they're saying is as exciting as AGUEROOOOO? You're announcing Kolo Muani to Spurs mate, calm the fuck down.
