Turkish Posted 18 May, 2025 Posted 18 May, 2025 (edited) All the rage isn’t it? Have your club and premier league club now. rhink I might go for Newcastle or Chelsea not sure which yet as for my foreign team always loved Francesso Totti one of my favourite ever players because he was class, cool and stuck with Roma when he could have gone to Real Madrid. Always liked Napoli too and looks like they might be Champions again. The problem with them is they are a bit like scousers with their neopolitian not Italian nonsense but a great club nonetheless. who will you support next season? can't wait to tell people I support Newcastle/Chelsea Roma/Napoli and Southampton 👏 Edited 19 May, 2025 by Turkish 3
Holmes_and_Watson Posted 19 May, 2025 Posted 19 May, 2025 Wrexham. Getting my hipster credentials in early, before they take Premeerr Sahccer by storm soon.
Tamesaint Posted 19 May, 2025 Posted 19 May, 2025 Maybe forget a men's Premier League team and support a ladies' team. Chelsea ladies win a lot and are always on terrestrial. 😜😜😜
Weston Super Saint Posted 19 May, 2025 Posted 19 May, 2025 No PL team. All a bunch of wankers. Foreign team is Athletic club. No other reason than when I went to Bilbao last year they were having a parade along the river after winning the Copa del Rey and the whole town was bedecked in red and white. 2 1
Sarnia Cherie Posted 19 May, 2025 Posted 19 May, 2025 I won't be following the modern trend. It will be Championship and Southern Combined Premier for me next season with the 2 teams I have always supported, Southampton and Guernsey. VAR free and grass roots. Suits me.
Pamplemousse Posted 19 May, 2025 Posted 19 May, 2025 Whoever Bournemouth are playing... best team in their history and they're still going to be a bottom half team. Get them back to the lower leagues where they belong 2
ErwinK1961 Posted 19 May, 2025 Posted 19 May, 2025 I’ll be making a more concerted effort to watch more local non league football next season - Eastleigh, Sholing and Totton. 1
skintsaint Posted 19 May, 2025 Posted 19 May, 2025 Just Saints & England as always. Still no major trophies to celebrate I'm guessing....

You gotta support an Premier League soccerball club pal. It's like a mobile phone, everyones got to have one these days.

Gloucester Saint Posted 19 May, 2025 Posted 19 May, 2025 Saints (42 years), Torquay United (14) and Cheltenham Town (2) for me. Follow Gloucester City and Sholing’s results (same division) and probably go that game.
sockeye Posted 19 May, 2025 Posted 19 May, 2025 Sheffield United or Sunderland, got to get my fix of red and white stripes getting battered every week. 1 1
OldNick Posted 19 May, 2025 Posted 19 May, 2025 Thats the thing with you Turks, you make so many thought provoking threads. Imgonna follow the team you do as you are so well informed that they are bound to win things 1 1
Doctoroncall Posted 20 May, 2025 Posted 20 May, 2025 Got to be Newcastle as Eddie Howe should have been our manager and this is what it would have been like if he managed us.
badgerx16 Posted 20 May, 2025 Posted 20 May, 2025 I started out thinking "whoever is playing Spurs", but then I had to add "whoever is playing Liverpool, Everton, or Newcastle", and so on. By extrapolation I end up with "none of them" and giving MOTD a miss for a year.

Generally I do like to see the South coast teams doing well, with the obvious exception of the blue phew down the road.
Disco Stu Posted 20 May, 2025 Posted 20 May, 2025 (edited) Probably Bournemouth. I used to go to their home games when we were playing away back when Steve Fletcher was their captain. Edited 20 May, 2025 by Disco Stu 1
Killers Knee Posted 20 May, 2025 Posted 20 May, 2025 Whoever plays Man Utd and Leeds, Burnley and the other promoted side. Hoping Man Utd have a worse year and we pass them next summer.
Ken Tone Posted 21 May, 2025 Posted 21 May, 2025 The thing is, when you've watched football at long as me ... over 50 years.. you have a grudge against just about every team. When I see a game on TV it's not who would I order win. It's who do I want to lose more. Tough choice sometimes! 2
NorthLondonSFC Posted 21 May, 2025 Posted 21 May, 2025 All three of the promoted teams, we need them to break the status quo and give us a chance of staying up in two years if we get promotion

We need one of them to get less than 12 points so we don't look as bad as we've been 1 1
OneMrsWallace Posted 21 May, 2025 Posted 21 May, 2025 I'm going full glory hunter mode so I'll support all the soccerball teams that win something. Saints are my reality check 😆
LiberalCommunist Posted 21 May, 2025 Posted 21 May, 2025 I'm looking forward to the EPL being totally off my radar. Good bloody riddance.
Turkish Posted 21 May, 2025 Author Posted 21 May, 2025 Exciting weekend ahead for my teams. Napoli can win Serie A, plus Roma, Chelsea and Newcastle can secure champions league football this weekend! I think Saints have a game too
Ted Bates Statue Posted 21 May, 2025 Posted 21 May, 2025 I'll still be watching the mighty Saints on DAZN or ESPN for the Saturday breakfast brunchtime kick-off with a bowl of Lucky Charms and washed down with a Bud Light. Failing that, I can set my VPN to the US Marshall Islands to ensure I'll get my fix. After all, I have been a lifetime supporter ever since my old boss Paul Allen was looking to buy us. For sure we'll be back pronto, returning to the premiere division where we belong. SoHo til I die! 1
Turkish Posted 23 May, 2025 Author Posted 23 May, 2025 (edited) We are about to win Serie A again 👏👏👏 Edited 23 May, 2025 by Turkish

Turkish Posted 24 May, 2025 Author Posted 24 May, 2025 Big day tomorrow. Going to have to decide between Newcastle and Chelsea as to who I’m going to support next season. Hopefully only one will qualify for the champions league to make it easier 1
Weston Super Saint Posted 25 May, 2025 Posted 25 May, 2025 I'll be rooting for Sunderland as my new Premier League Soccerball superstars. Play in red and white as well. Will be challenging for lowest ever points total. What's not to like? 1
Miltonaggro Posted 25 May, 2025 Posted 25 May, 2025 Liverpool. Everyone’s favourite underdog second team. After that Bournemouth as the south coast superstars.
Turkish Posted 29 May, 2025 Author Posted 29 May, 2025 We’re signing Liam Delap for £30m. Great to see us win the conference league last night too amazing performance Napoli signing De Bruyne great signing for us what a player! His name on the back of my shirt next season 👏👏👏👏
offsidetrap Posted 29 May, 2025 Posted 29 May, 2025 Maybe it should the nearest EPL team to your birthplace. That’s Chelsea for me but I’d rather get into ice hockey. What about the SPL?. There’s at least two teams worth following. If the bus to Glasgow (free travel up here) was under three hours I might think about giving it a go, but it isn’t ! Lots of saints came from the east end. Stu, VVD, Victor, FF etc..
Turkish Posted 29 May, 2025 Author Posted 29 May, 2025 You know like how parents to be have a gender reveal for their new kid which is another shit yank thing that’s crossed the pond, we should have a support reveal? We could get all our mates round for the Champions league soccerball final and reveal which team we’re supporting next season? Be a sick idea bro. The tops Gs videoing their support reveal night for our insta following. Lots of blue balloons for me bros as I’m Chelsea and Napoli through and through 💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙
JonnyOB Posted 30 May, 2025 Posted 30 May, 2025 Always been Saints and Brighton [ my late father's team ] , never gave a frog's-fat-ar5e about England since Hoddle and his antics .... so a genuine long time Prem shout-along for me.
Holmes_and_Watson Posted 31 May, 2025 Posted 31 May, 2025 As Manchester United found out during their ghost town bus tour, you don't have to stick with one soccerball team forever. As clubs look down on "legacy" fans, leverage that to keep supporting the successful ones. In this Beeb article noticing the shift from Man Utd through Man City and back to Liverpool, winning is important. However, it does mention Brighton as a hipster choice. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/cx2qd53v479o 1

I was about to leap (well amble) to the defence of our overseas Saints supporters, who we all love as fellow fans. But you did say "identify with the strongest teams", so that clearly doesn't apply here. 🙂 Mind you, historically, football hasn't needed much of an excuse to be corrupt all the way back to incentives for amateur players, or ways round wage caps.
