JohnnyShearer2.0 Posted January 4 Posted January 4 (edited) Reed scores a worldie! Edited January 4 by JohnnyShearer2.0 1
Saint Pete Posted January 4 Posted January 4 With all the (justifiable) doom and gloom today, that was great to see Harry Reed smash it in top corner v Liverpool, great goal he will remember that one! 👍 1
John Boy Saint Posted January 4 Posted January 4 Take a bow Harry Reed - absolute screamer top bins, Alisson in a different postcode as it whistled past him. 1
S-Clarke Posted January 4 Posted January 4 Great goal, good to see Reed made a good career for himself. Same as Targett really. Both were let go from us at a time when we were 'upgrading' our squad, yet they're both many many levels above what we can currently field. So, well done everyone. The blueprint of how not to run a football club since 2017! 8
East Kent Saint Posted January 5 Posted January 5 It was a bit of justice after Liverpool were given an offside goal by new VAR rule , even Wirtz thought he was offside , because he was . To compensate for VAR margins of error due to timing of when the ball was actually kicked etc there is a new 5cm tollerence applied if the two lines overlap so if this is the case the attacker has 5cm leeway so is given onside !!

If it's that close then it's a toss up and not worth arguing over. If you want to play a game that's more definitive then try Russian Roulette.
S-Clarke Posted January 5 Posted January 5 I see Amorim has gone the same way as Maresca. They both clearly called out influences above them stopping them doing their job properly, or providing the right tools, and they are promptly ousted. Probably excuses in some way, but it also goes to show that the managers don't 'run' the team like the old days, they are just the front figure to the DoF/Scouts and board. 5
East Kent Saint Posted January 5 Posted January 5 They say he wasn't interested in the academy players and never watched any age group matches !

On Motd it showed the defenders foot one side of the mowed grass line and the attacker over that line on the next patch so looked pretty offside to me ! As you say close but wasn’t VAR supposed to remove any doubt ?

As you say close but wasn’t VAR supposed to remove any doubt ? There will always be doubt with offsides. It's a dynamic situation with players going in different directions and a measure of uncertainty as to when the ball is kicked. The offside law was only ever meant to prevent goal hanging. VAR can only eliminate the howlers

SambaMaverick Posted January 5 Posted January 5 Powerful sight at Leicester tonight, albeit for a game in freezing conditions that is on TV

The Glasgow fans know full well who calls the shots, so no surprise Tisdale's gone. But they are still wanting changes in the board, the Chairman having stepped down a while back this season. As for Nancy, loves a 3 at the back and, like Martin, brought in an innovative, project centred ethos. Both clubs, being the last ones the fans will put up with an innovative, project based ethos. Still, if Tonda continues to sink, don't be surprised if SR look at him.
Toussaint Posted January 6 Posted January 6 KWP looks back to his best at West Ham tonight. What a loss he is, most of their attacking is coming through him. 2

Gloucester Saint Posted January 6 Posted January 6 West Ham wanted a show a bit more punch but not quite like that…. KWP did well apart from the corner, shouldn’t be back post anyway. As for Fernandes, very anonymous. 🎵 Matty Fernandes, he’ll bring the drop for you 🎵 1
AlexLaw76 Posted January 6 Author Posted January 6 (edited) LOL at West Ham.... 7 points from safety 🤣 Edited January 6 by AlexLaw76
SW5 SAINT Posted January 6 Posted January 6 I hope the add ons for Fernandes at wham don’t include a relegation avoidance clause…..!?

Willo of Whiteley Posted January 7 Posted January 7 Michael Keane getting sent off for Everton for pulling a Wolves players hair. He’s absolutely rattled.

AlexLaw76 Posted January 7 Author Posted January 7 Grealish obviously fancies another weekend on the piss
Willo of Whiteley Posted January 7 Posted January 7 The refereeing was excellent there. Lena rightly sent off for what is classed in the laws as violent conduct. Grealish sent off for gobbing off twice towards the referee. This is where there should be a lot of apologies from Everton. Their players were rattled and their fans abusive towards the officials there. No need for it.
LuckyNumber7 Posted January 7 Posted January 7 God Everton fans are such dislikable gobby twats. Ref got those decisions spot on. 1
JohnnyShearer2.0 Posted January 7 Posted January 7 Would be nice if the Saints players had half the fight of either the Leeds or Newcastle players. That was a good game.

Willo of Whiteley Posted January 7 Posted January 7 Newcastle one of the most unlikeable teams going, but I would love to see our players pick the ball up, turn and run like that at the opposition.

Turkish Posted January 8 Posted January 8 What a boring game Arsenal v Liverpool is Arsenal not had a shot in the second half Liverpool not been much better 3

Lord Duckhunter Posted January 8 Posted January 8 What a cunt Martinelli is, the blokes clearly badly injured and he’s pushing him off the pitch. Someone needs to fucking clean him out… 4

Turkish Posted January 10 Posted January 10 Macclesfield 1 Palace 0 at HT Macclesfield deserve it too!
Midfield_General Posted January 10 Posted January 10 If they can hold on then 14th place in the sixth tier knocking out current cup holders and 13th in the top division would be one of the biggest upsets ever surely? Even when Sutton knocked out Coventry I think they were only fifth tier
Britannia Posted January 10 Posted January 10 Macclesfield look dangerous, every time they go forward I think they’re going to score.
Lord Duckhunter Posted January 10 Posted January 10 (edited) They’re getting it in the mixer, not mincing around with it at the back… Edited January 10 by Lord Duckhunter 1
