I was willing Macclesfield on as much as I would Saints and so tense at the end desperate for them to hang on

Biggest shock ever surprised we don’t hold that one

That’s the luck of the draw.. otherwise i’m sure we would.

Same, I was actually nervous, was weird, but I really enjoyed that.

A weakened Burnley currently second bottom of the PL dicking millwall 5-0 that’s how far off we are

City with 10 goals from 10 shots on target (yes, I know two were own goals).

Exeter only completed 28 passes in the City defensive half. Hard to imagine a more one-sided match between two pro clubs.

Villa are a great side to watch, quick, sharp pass and movement, get it forward quickly.

shearer commented on the offence between them and Spurs who are so much slower getting it forward. Who’d have thought it

Villa got Unai Emery around the time we got Nathan Jones.

The trajectory of both teams since 😢

Have we ever drawn a non-league club? Can't remember it in my lifetime!

I remember games against Weymouth and Walton & Hersham back in the Third Division days but I am an old!!

I must admit enjoying the game and realising how much away we are from ever being a decent Premiership team again.
Why were Spurs playing with names on the back on their shirts, no club badge and the AIA Sponsorship seemingly not showing.?

It was a good game. Villa are night and day to us, quick pass and movement, get it forward quickly, lots of pace and power. I’m sure they’ll catch up with us at some point as we are at the forefront of the reinvention of the game

Wearing commemoration shirts,  can't remember of what !

I don’t remember either but they were on about how both teams had won the cup so many times as they had the original trophy with spurs colour ribbons on it so might have been something to do with that

Google says it was because they won 1901 FA Cup as a non league club so they wore similar shirts even though they won't win the FA Cup 2026 😄 also Google says there were only Div 1 and Div 2 in those days and the Southern League , that Spurs were in, was a mixture of profesional clubs and part timers but still a strong league . So not such a big gap as CP and Macclesfield sides !

That was weird. They seemed to be wearing plain shirts over an away strip underneath. Yet their substitutes were wearing normal shirts. Did they even have numbers?

Sadly, I am a lot older than 16, so I must have just forgotten this!

We were in League One at the time so perhaps there wasn't as much of a gap as it seemed!

I have memories of losing to Port Vale back in 1994, listening to it at my Gran's house on her wireless. I had to check if they were non-League but surprisingly it was during one of their more successful periods.

End of days....!!!!

BBD scores!

It's a shame that Downs didn't score yesterday in Germany, then we know for sure that there's a curse at SMS

Maybe, just maybe, it’s the culture and lack of effective coaching/ playing players to their individual strengths at saints that’s the overriding issue, and problem with a lot of these players failing here but doing ok elsewhere

Pompey v Arsenal in the cup today which bring back memories of one of the most truly cringey moments in football. For those who remember it Arsenal smashing the skates 5-1 and the Skates cheering for Arsenal and singing Thierry Henry’s name. To make it even worse they didn’t see it as completely embarrassing and boasted about how classy it was

imagine if that was us, losing 5-1 at home against a team in the same division and we started cheering on the other team singing they players name. We’d never heat the end of it. no Pashun av you scummers etc etc

Hope they get absolutely ruined. Face like a plasterer's radio by the end.

If Portsmouth come out and play like this against us in a couple of weeks, we don't stand a chance.

According to the sky sports app they are the second best pressing team in the championship which surprised and concerned me as we will play right into their hands

Yep but on the other hand they simply cannot defend set pieces (a bit like us) so expect us to take short corners and pass it back to the keeper.

Pompey use up their energy in the first half, like they did against us at St Mary's. I'd expect them to run out of steam in the 2nd half, and for Arsenal to score more goals in the final 20 minutes.

When we play them, we just need to weather that early storm.
