Agreed, and that’s on him. We had the facade of change with Kraft going, Spors and new scouting team coming in. More promises of wholesale change but all there’s been is two more kid fringe players and a Brentford right back. Clear and obvious who is still in charge and Solak lets him do it. A lot of people posted saying this summer was SR last opportunity with the bulk of the fanbase and I think things have travelled too far now as they did with Lowe to be reversible. When you see the level of lampooning and piss-taking, and not just from the usual suspects and moaners, sooner or later it’s new ownership time. Edited 25 August, 2025 by Gloucester Saint 1 1
Saint Gifford Posted 26 August, 2025 Posted 26 August, 2025 Martin over Still. I’ll go back to my Dry Martinis. Will is the man, like Ralph was. Just need to thank our lucky stars we have some ability running the team.
Harry_SFC Posted 27 August, 2025 Posted 27 August, 2025 Probably about time this thread was closed. Maybe for Benji's sake, we could all forget he ever made it. 7 1

suewhistle Posted 27 August, 2025 Posted 27 August, 2025 I just assumed the OP was taking the piss, and I'm still not sure. AlexLaw is a bit of a snowflake so him posting lots of negativity, already, about Still can be taken with a pinch of salt. But if we laugh about the Rangers result tonight we'll be laughing with them (and Swansea) as the man is an utter charlatan and each of those clubs has suffered his monomaniacal inflexibility. 5

You can’t repair the damage that’s been done in just a few weeks over the summer. And it's not just damage to the players, either. Saw my first game at the Dell in 1967 - we beat Chelsea 5-0 - and had been a loyal Saints fan through thick and thin ever since. Frankly, they are of only passing interest now. (And I don't mean Russball style passing) 2
saintant Posted 27 August, 2025 Posted 27 August, 2025 You have to feel for Ranger's fans. The majority didn't want him but they tried their hardest to convince themselves that he'd work out ok. Unfortunately the same pattern has been repeated and the exact same sound bites have been heard at press conferences. I have to take my hat off to Russ because, for a guy with little coaching ability, he's fooled a lot of people , conned his way into some good jobs and made a hell of a lot of money. I think that the snake-oil well has now run dry though but he'll probably write a book about his exploits. 1

gurru991 Posted 28 August, 2025 Posted 28 August, 2025 She was only a moonshiners daughter but I love her Still.
Secret Site Agent Posted 29 August, 2025 Posted 29 August, 2025 I'm all in for Still. One of the problems with Russell Martin was he signed all his mate to play for Saints. That wont happen with Will Still. Cause Still is Ginger. And Gingers have no friends!!!!! (Just Kidding) Looking at the transfer market so far, be interested to see what he has in store. So in reality I am holding my judgement but feel a little confident he can pull something off once the dust settles.
benjii Posted 14 September, 2025 Author Posted 14 September, 2025 (edited) Face facts, guys. I'm right. Ginger Juric is awful. We need to bin off that prick, Lallana, too. Edited 14 September, 2025 by benjii

sfc4prem Posted 20 September, 2025 Posted 20 September, 2025 This is a fucking terrible thread. Martin took us up via Wembley but fucked us over on the biggest stage. Let's not even contemplate the possibility of who we'd rather have. Partly because it's pointless and farcical, but also because I don't need reminding about how shite we were last year under him.

die Mannyschaft Posted 20 September, 2025 Posted 20 September, 2025 I'm falling asleep thinking about how boring the Boro game will be with negative football. I will any manager that plays football to win not draw.
gurru991 Posted 21 September, 2025 Posted 21 September, 2025 I just can't imagine a scenario where a Southhampton fan would want Russell Martin back.

Fabrice29 Posted 19 October, 2025 Posted 19 October, 2025 Continue to think the premise of this thread is daft but hello to anyone who insisted over the summer "we need a season or two to regroup as we aren't ready for the Premier League again" or "The Championship season under Martin was really boring". 1
