die Mannyschaft Posted November 8 Posted November 8 Did come on in 2nd half v Sheffield Wednesday? I've got varifocal glasses so maybe my vision was blurred at times.
spyinthesky Posted November 8 Posted November 8 Another absolutely nondescript performance today. Shocking player as far as his contributions so far this season have shown. 1

Also his effort levels are disgraceful. Our press is non existent when he comes on. 5
AlexLaw76 Posted November 8 Posted November 8 I thought he looked pretty slow today. I get he is probably shot from a confidence PoV, but running with the ball seemed very slow for someone who is supposed to be a bit of an athlete.
Suhari Posted November 8 Posted November 8 Made a good run into the channel, held the ball up under pressure and laid it back to keep the attack moving. Was a tidy piece of play: the standard you want from a big guy up front. Didn't do a lot else.... didn't really seem to have a chance to. Did look a little lazy chasing back. He was better than the last time I saw him come on. 2

It also annoys me when he comes on. Not only must there be others who deserve a chance, but also he never sprints and just jogs aimlessly around the pitch. A couple of times at the end, Baz kicked the ball upfield and Downs ducked out of trying to header while Quarshie got to a couple. Attitude or aptitude, I don't know, but I never want to see this kid wearing a Saints shirt again. 2

Baz Fl Posted November 8 Posted November 8 1’s and 9’s the most important part to get right and we didn’t, fix that and we will be good
benjii Posted November 9 Posted November 9 (edited) 9 hours ago, RedArmy said: Stop wasting a sub on this kid ffs Yeah, it's risky. We put him on for Azaz. Instead of doing that and shuffling Armstrong around to accommodate him, we could have given Matsuki, for example, 20 minutes in the Azaz role without risking losing our shape and outlets. LGTL Posted November 9 Posted November 9 I’ve heard he’s been going through some personal problems for a couple of months now, since after the Stoke game. If what I’ve heard is true, then I’m stunned that he hasn’t been taken out the firing line for an extended period. 1

It would certainly explain a lot and although i've seen very little to suggest he will ever make it as a professional footballer we have to remember he is very young, living abroad, away from family and friends no doubt.....sometimes we are all guilty including myself of judging too quickly. 3

You have to feel for him if this is the case because it looks for all the world like he doesn’t want to be out there, but is being named on the bench anyway . Yet more dreadful management of a player 2

You’d think so wouldn’t you , but this appears to be another case of SR putting their reputation before anything else, even a players wellbeing, because it certainly isn’t benefitting either the club or himself the more he plays right now. It appears that they dont want to admit the signing has been a complete failure, even though everyone can already see it almost certainly is. They’d rather destroy a players confidence completely and ensure the fans have completely had enough of him to the point he’s a comedy figure, first. 1

If he wants to play a run in the Under 21’s would make more sense at the moment though.
Lord Duckhunter Posted November 9 Posted November 9 Best game he’s played so far. Touched the ball, passed to someone else in red and white a couple of times, and didn’t fall over. Credit where it’s due, he’s improved…. 5

Hope he can get through it.

Yet still earning a disgusting amount of money literally stealing a living. Awesome.

You'd have to imagine he can't wait to get out, probably get back to Germany (or the MLS). Either way, significant Championship amount of money wasted.

Tbf the rest of the signings have been decent enough but we really needed the CF one to be a hit and it's been the complete opposite.

The insurance company has paid out. Why does she seem to think the club owe her an apology or some kind of action. If it was any "normal" person, I doubt she'd go demanding an apology from their employer or asking them to report to the police... 2

The video is cringey and self-pitying, typical Next Door app type slop, but him - allegedly as we only have one side of the story - driving away from an accident, the club would have had to report it to the police as that’s actually a criminal offence with some serious penalties attached (not that he’d ever be able to score one himself) https://www.draycottbrowne.co.uk/motoring-law/failure-to-stop We’ve not heard his side or the club’s, but if it’s true that he’s not stopped then he should be looking at a driving ban or very close to it. We’ve had stupidity with cars before (Hurlock, Beattie, Lemina) but driving away from an accident scene he’s been involved in or possibly caused, that’s serious. Combined with his absence of any professional football ability and a broken Ross Stewart almost certainly there will be a loan striker coming in January, at least one, and I suspect Damion will be packed off on a long-term subsidised loan somewhere. 2
Osvaldorama Posted 23 hours ago Posted 23 hours ago So he’s just as shit at driving as he is at football then… Is there anything he can do? 2

Why? It's not the club's duty to report it to the police - unless it happened on property that the club owned. If it was on a public highway it's up to the parties involved to report it and the police to investigate. Similarly your employer wouldn't be expected to report you to the police in the same circumstances.

Similarly your employer wouldn't be expected to report you to the police in the same circumstances. In a normal employment scenario I’d agree with you but this is far more high profile and the club has a highly paid employee from another country who may not fully understand UK laws yet and a court case would not reflect well on their duty of care. Of course, he’s from an English-speaking country and that would be a thin excuse. This is all one person’s account and given he subsequently admitted liability, I am really not sure she should have put it in the public domain like that let alone the histrionics. The club would get a lot of hassle though and PR to clean up if they hadn’t have advised him on what to do as I suspect they and his agent did. Either way, although accidents happen, if he looked remotely awake on the pitch I doubt it would be paid attention to at all, but he’s looked comatose and the worst outfield player I’ve ever seen for the club - and I was at the Leeds/Dia game. 1
Dr. Kucho Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago Probably best to loan Downs to a German second division club so he can regain his confidence and review in the summer what’s best for both sides. Though after reading the comments on here I doubt it will work out for him.
Thripp87 Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago Arrest the clown for 20 years. Hire a lawyer to sack him. Either option is fine by me.
