badgerx16 Posted yesterday at 16:01 Posted yesterday at 16:01 I think Paul Trollope and Will Still should swap jobs. Can't be any worse. 1

No identity at all, players look confused and he still hasn't figured out his formation or starting 11. Exactly this, even Will Still doesn’t know what a Will Still side is. Shambles so far. 2 full backs bought in the summer, on the bench instead of Ryan Fraser. Azaz one of the top scorers/assisters last season, on the bench. The right call but the guy you made skipper, not playing again. Leo playing great and hooked. Ryan Manning also needs to fuck off until he can fuck off no further. 2 important goals from a full back don’t mask what a clown he is when is comes to actual defending. Still out. 5

HarvSFC Posted yesterday at 16:02 Posted yesterday at 16:02 Poor. Said before the game that what's needed is a good performance and three points against a Derby team battling to survive in the Championship. For the first seven minutes it looked like that was coming true and it showed how good we can be. However, the following 83 minutes was a boring mess full of crap. Alex McCarthy, Man of the Match against the 20th placed Championship side. That's very poor. At least he's cemented himself as the number one, although we may well get a new manager who has to go through the Bazunu process again. Don't know what Spors is thinking. We haven't played well all season. Our two wins against Wrexham and Sheffield United were fortunate, one needed a wonder goal to bail us out. So, he can't be happy with this start to the season. But, then he also thought Jack Stephens had a good pre-season when he was making mistake after mistake in those games, so not too sure his judgement is all there. End of the day we've played 9 games and we haven't played a good 90, maybe even a good 45 in any. Not looking good. 6
badgerx16 Posted yesterday at 16:02 Posted yesterday at 16:02 Wasn't Fellows top of the tree for creating chances last season ? No sign of it so far this one.
macca155 Posted yesterday at 16:03 Posted yesterday at 16:03 (edited) Well it wasn't absolute rubbish I suppose, didn't lose, but from a decent looking side on Tuesday Still has messed about, and destroyed whatever cohesion we had. Bringing on Downs and not Archer was ridiculous. Playing Fellows on the wrong side, weird. Playing Frazer just upset our balance. Azaz doesn't appear to be allowed to play in a position he likes. Starting to have a few doubts about Still. I wonder if he is under pressure to play these signings. Aribo would have been a good option. What happened to Matsuki. No Robinson and no U21's considered worthy. Hard supporting Saints right now. Leicester and Coventry getting into their stride now, nasty little gap starting to appear. hypochondriac Posted yesterday at 16:04 Posted yesterday at 16:04 I sort of wish we had a nasty bastard in charge of the club above the manager who could make clear in no uncertain terms that our standards are not high enough and this is not acceptable. Say what you want about Birmingham's owners but they are already issuing votes of confidence in their manager and he's under pressure despite being above us in the table. We seem to be happy as a club to accept lower standards and mediocrity. Someone at the club hsould be going nuts and knocking heads together. What the fuck are these performances? You can't spend all that money and churn out rubbish like this! Totally unacceptable. 8

SWLondon Saint Posted yesterday at 16:05 Posted yesterday at 16:05 As soon as Stewart went off, we went to pieces, up to that point we looked so much better going forward, I thought this was where the season was getting started. Scienza also has to play, without him we looked so pedestrian. Azaz had a couple of moments, good pass to Fellows at the end but need more from both of them. Armstrong should never ever play in the centre again, he has no presence and he is terrible on the ball in the middle, no idea how to play all the little flicks and chest downs. Well taken goal though. Downs invisible, should be in the reserves not in the 1st team. Scienza-Archer-Armstrong would have been better 1st half. We have big problems stopping crosses especially from the left. I think Jelert or Fraser should be playing.
whiteleySaint30 Posted yesterday at 16:05 Posted yesterday at 16:05 Downs just woeful - i know the stock answer is to give him time to settle but surely that is to understand team tactics/formation etc. You'd think he'd arrived with the basics of being able to run, pass 5 yards, trap a ball and head a ball...... 2

Saint Fan CaM Posted yesterday at 16:07 Posted yesterday at 16:07 Downs continues to prove he’s far from a competent footballer at this level…disaster of a signing. We missed Stewart’s presence when he got injured - let’s hope it’s not too serious, but it probably will be weeks out. We desperately need another big presence up front because Archer is just another AA. Manning is a defensive liability (just in case my deep dislike of the player wasn’t already clear!) and a couple of decent free kicks is not enough to justify his awful positioning or defending - he basically gifted them their equaliser today. Downs just cannot rid himself of his tendency to play backwards or foul. He slows everything down and not in a good way. McCarthy, Charles, Jander, Scienza, AA and Stewart had great games today. Other than Manning, Still needs to keep the CB’s and put Mads and Jewett in as wing backs. The rest of the team picks itself, but Downs is not the answer to anything in a footballing sense. 3
Vancouver Saint Posted yesterday at 16:08 Posted yesterday at 16:08 Entertaining game. Unfortunately, those are the types of game we need to win, not draw. Was watching the 'RamsTV' stream and their commentators were saying that's the best Derby have played this season by far... We were the better footballing team but lack that killer edge. Armstrong unlucky not to score a second. McCarthy had a great game. Our defensive weakness against high crosses exposed again. The two Downses added absolutely nothing, weakened us. Scienza looked really sharp - subbing him off a mistake. Shame to lose Stewart just when he looked like he might, just might have been our go-to striker. Feel like that's two points dropped, but honestly can't say a draw is unfair - Derby could easily have scored another too. It's a long season and we're beginning to look a bit more like a team. But we won't win anything with draws. Coventry and Leicester doing what they need to do away from home...we need to start winning consistently soon. 4
scumbag Posted yesterday at 16:08 Posted yesterday at 16:08 As someone just said, he's not far off where the other twat was at this stage of the season, so head says he deserves more time. But on the basis that your eyes don't lie to you, bringing on Downs would suggest that he's actually a bit of a numpty. 2
LGTL Posted yesterday at 16:09 Posted yesterday at 16:09 I’m sorry but that was absolutely diabolical. Worst result of the season that, considering how bad Derby were. Still does not have a single clue what he’s doing. And yet, STILL people are clapping off that second half performance. It’s a malaise that has infiltrated the entire club and happily sees us sitting in the bottom half of the fucking Championship. Fucking done with Still, fuck off. 9

Well it was at least we had a few decent players but apart from Macca there are not any We have a few adequate players but no where near enough to get us promoted but apart from Coventry and Leicester there are not many teams who I can say are possibly going to get promoted either Why Still was selected to be manager beggars belief 2
Holmes_and_Watson Posted yesterday at 16:11 Posted yesterday at 16:11 Strong opening, with AA and Stewart linking well. AA getting past an entire defence for his goal. As soon as that happened we fell apart. Then Stewart gets injured. Derby had plenty of chances before they got their equaliser. McCarthy definitely first choice. After the break we used our massively better resources side to fail to win against a side without a home win. Without Stewart, we needed Downs to step up, but got nothing. Players playing out of position nullified their effectiveness. Leo going off dented it further. A fair bit off a side looking for automatic promotion. A mile off a club that were planning for this season from this time in the PL season. 3

Especially today, there was some really good pass and move football from us in the first 10 minutes. It’s the first time this season I’ve really seen us look like we had any patterns of play or cohesion. Then we scored and they all switched off for the rest of the game. Without wishing to sound like Russell Martin the mentality of these players is terrible. But that’s part of what Still is paid to manage, and he needs to sort it fast. 2

SWLondon Saint Posted yesterday at 16:23 Posted yesterday at 16:23 Still has to realise Manning and Fraser cannot play as our wing backs in this formation. They offer absolutely no progression or threat to take people on and always turn back. Also, they should be pressing up on the full back, not standing in space 30y back. Against Norwich when Roerslev was at WB he was right up on the fullback which is where he should be, Fellows did that too the last couple of games. Having those 2 on makes it impossible to play out unless you're hitting a forward from the back line which only happens if Stewart is playing. I appreciate Fraser puts in a shift and actually defends better than Manning but hopefully we never see him in that position again. 3

Fellows had his best game against Middlesbrough and looked good in the first half in midweek. So he got hooked at half time and dropped out of the eleven today. Willo of Whiteley Posted yesterday at 16:27 Posted yesterday at 16:27 I’m sorry but we should be in Coventry’s position (on paper). Absolutely obliterating teams. I stead were playing a back five against a team in the bottom four, mental. That in itself should be a sackable offence. 3

Ability and work rate wise, quite possibly the worst outfield player. I would suggest relegating him to the u23s but I don’t want his attitude stinking that group out. Lord knows what the likes of Robinson and Dipepa who can actually play football think about being behind the useless oaf in the pecking order. Steve Cotterill wouldn’t consider him good enough for Cheltenham at the base of League 2 (great win on his return today) nor would Paul Wotton tolerate his lack of work rate (won 0-1 at Salisbury today) so at least my non-Saints teams I follow won. 3

Football Special Posted yesterday at 16:31 Posted yesterday at 16:31 (edited) Very disappointing start , we'll drop further tomorrow Edited yesterday at 16:32 by Football Special
Willo of Whiteley Posted yesterday at 16:32 Posted yesterday at 16:32 I don’t buy all the “scar tissue” bollocks. These players are all overpaid for being terrible at their jobs. Half the squad is new, and some of the deadweight has been moved on.
Sheaf Saint Posted yesterday at 16:33 Posted yesterday at 16:33 Meh. Not great. Obviously Stewart going off injured ruined our game plan, but that's no excuse. We started well, attacked at pace and scored a good goal, but then just backed off and barely got out of our own half for the next 20 mins. Manning is so brainless. Yes it was an incorrect call from the lino, but if he'd just focused on his actual job rather than pointlessly arguing about it then they don't score. Such an idiot. I really have my doubts about Still. Two months into the season and we still look like a disjointed mess. There's no discernible tactics or patterns of play, so we just resort to the same old aimless passing around the back or just stopping and checking back when we do get into forward positions. And I have to question the sanity of anyone who thinks it's a good idea to put Damion Downs on the pitch. I'm Honestly struggling to think of a worse player I've ever seen in a Saints shirt. He's just hopeless. Derby were poor. Very little quality about them at all and will be in a relegation scrap this season, so we should have beaten them comfortably with the squad we have. Very disappointing to drop points there today. But at least I'm drier than last time I was here, and didn't have to endure seeing hundreds of Derby fans run on to the pitch to goad us at the end, so that's a positive. 5
