Aaaah - so I get it now, we have to employ a coach the players are happy with. Doesn't matter about the results, how we defend or attack, or how many people are crying or laughing about us. Whether supporters stop coming to the stadium, whether our goalie looks like an outfield player forced to play in goal, whether we don't have one player who anyone thinks can reliably score goals - as long as they are 'enjoying themselves'?

Hopefully, they get hugs from the manager (we are clearly getting now), and he says he loves them, and they get Mondays off.

Results, league position? Yeah okay, sort of needs looking at, but c'mon the players are happy and enjoying themselves....

Why don't SR just announce the senior players are now the 'manager' and they make all the decisions relating to the team etc?

Actually just had clarification via @Edward Tattsyrup that Bergsson would be brought in to a kind of general manager role (unclear how would differ from Bitcon and Spors tbh) with Frandsen as Head Coach.

Seems like a different model rather than traditional manager setup.

Have heard similar. I have it on good authority that Houllier has been our number one target for weeks.  Spors and Rasmus are refusing to consider other options until Houllier picks up his phone to let them know if he’s interested or not.

How there is no outstanding candidate

Clubs preferred media sources leaking stories about how great Tonda is, a couple more wins and how cant they give him the job

After what the French journalist said around the time of Still’s sacking, that we have a lot of managers in the clubs set up but none really does anything, I think bringing in another manager is a cracking idea! Go Sports Republic!

Not sure they can give a meaningful update without just whipping up speculation, uncertainty, and hysteria. Plus undermining Eckert  in the process.

Any statement is likely to be so bland it would cause anger among the fans in itself.

Genius idea @Midfield_General, if only SR would try something like this. Although, to be fair, they have demonstrated revolutionary, out-of-the-box thinking with Downs being played as a false number 9, whilst actually being a number 9.  With Bazunu, they have extended the false number 9 strategy to playing a false goalkeeper, brilliant. Playing left backs as right backs and vice-versa has also been a masterstroke, as is buying an out-and-out winger (Fellows) and playing him as an attacking right back. In the last home game, the club radically decided that 3 CBS was too normal and innovatively played 4 centre-backs for the last half an hour 

As Ankersen would have it, if it ain't broke, break it, and they have adopted this strategy masterfully.

I assume the players will have been asked by journalists "what has training been like with Tonda?". What do you expect them to say? He picks the side. Players aren't going to criticise the incumbent. They will want to be positive. In general, players will be positive, especially after a couple of wins. That's not some sort of SR PR campaign, its just normal answers to standard questions.

I think you and a few others on here massively overestimate SR. I doubt they have had a single meeting to discuss the need a PR campaign to ensure fans are cool with them appointing Tonda. They aren't that clever or organised.
