Lymington Saint Posted Friday at 14:15 Posted Friday at 14:15 To make a change from the Manager merry-go-round Southampton's Northam Rail Bridge to be replaced by 2030 - BBC News This has been kicking around for a while. Looks like it is getting serious. Anyone know whether replacing the footbridge from SMS would be included in the scheme? It was built one the cheap when the stadium was built and is inadequate. Also, how is it going to work after they have built the new bridge and are replacing the existing bridge? Anyone ITK?
Football Special Posted Friday at 15:50 Posted Friday at 15:50 Not ITK but this is definitely a big opportunity to improve the access and make a proper route towards Kingsland/ Northam stand that can hold a lot more people With stadium expansion our crowds could grow to 40k + by 2030 and I expect access will be an issue for approval
Katalinic Posted Friday at 16:21 Posted Friday at 16:21 Sport Republic will dither replacing the footbridge, then decide on a long term temporary one. 3

East Kent Saint Posted Friday at 16:50 Posted Friday at 16:50 In Boston they have a failed highway project that looks exactly like that . 1
Disco Stu Posted Friday at 17:25 Posted Friday at 17:25 A quick steel brush and fresh coat of Hammerite and it will be good for another 117 years. 1
Morse Posted Friday at 17:41 Posted Friday at 17:41 When i first met my now wife she wanked me off on Northern Bridge while walking home from Barberellas so I'll be sad to see it go. 1 14

Behind Enemy Lines Posted Friday at 18:45 Posted Friday at 18:45 Was there a bridge before the current one that we could bring back? If not, surely there’s one available from Germany? 2

Are English Heritage or Southampton Civic Society aware of this ? If ever a bridge was worthy of a blue plaque then this is it. 1 7

You’d assume this is all part of the Project Renaissance initiative.

She did more to me on that bridge than just a handjob and my mates I was with at the time got more too. Loved those nights out with the football team.

Turkish Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago Can’t we make one really cool bride that is a bit of an icon for the area? Southampton doesn’t have much going for it maybe if we could make a class bridge it would at least give something to talk about
