Hopefully he picks our best available side. I've no doubt he'll go for 3 CM's again like he did at Coventry. Can't see Scienza starting given he wasn't in training on Monday but you never know. Shame that Downes and Matsuki are suspended. 

Peretz, Bree, THB, Stephens, Manning, Charles, Jander, Bragg, Azaz, Fellows/Edozie, Larin.

Quick question which affects my transport options.. Is there extra time at this round or does it go straight to penalties?

Comments like "it'll be settled in 90 minutes, or the first 20" not needed!;-) However unlikely the contingency, I'm planning!

Looked like his ankle, couldn’t tell if twisted or impact injury. He was sat down for a while and looked in some discomfort. After 10 minutes, he walked off unaided down the tunnel and didn’t return for the autograph session.

I must say, I was very impressed that all the players spent a good hour signing autographs and taking photos with the kids. Am worried that Ross will not be available this weekend due to writer’s cramp!

Sounds like he has spent more time signing autographs than on the pitch. 😉

It was a showcase event, only an hour, bit of a warmup, a bit of keeping possesses and a small goal game on a crowded small pitch. The only thing they may have learned is that Scienza was still injured

Hello everyone!

Tomorrow is one of the most important matches of your season! Against a Premier League side that’s always a tough opponent.

I genuinely believe Southampton have a real chance for several reasons:

- 14 matches unbeaten: one of the best runs in England and Europe!

- At home: Playing at home, in front of a sold-out crowd of over 32,000 fans, the atmosphere will be incredible!

- Arsenal’s absentees: The Gunners currently have a lot of players out, including several regular starters.

- Momentum: Tonda Eckert’s players are brimming with confidence, and the goal of a 15th consecutive unbeaten match is firmly in their minds!

- The ‘extra’ objective for the club: Even though all eyes are on the end-of-season play-offs, being just two matches away from a cup final is a great incentive to play for.

My heart goes out to you, your club and your players, and I’ll be at St Mary’s to cheer on the Saints. I’ll be experiencing this event just like you, and I sincerely hope for a good result tomorrow night!

I can’t wait to be there, friends!

Really need the crowd up for it tomorrow. Yet to have a really memorable atmosphere with the new layout and if we can't get that here then something is massively wrong.

I think Downes will be a bigger loss than most people realise. 
 

We are a completely different team without him when he’s at the top of his game.

Think we will need a lot of luck to win. Norwich game afain had the 2nd half flat, defensive performance.  Cant do that v Arsenal who wont have all those players out. 

Arsenal were really poor v City in Cup final and I cant see them being that bad again.

Our be chance is to score the chances we create in first half.

After today’s Championship games am I the only one feeling FOMO and thinking that this is all a bit of an unwanted distraction from the serious business of the Championship?

I mean of course I hope we beat Arsenal and whoever and whoever after that, but none of that is likely is it? And we’re on such a good run in the league that I don’t want anything to sour it……I hate football sometimes, it turns me into a deranged nutcase !!

Perhaps that is just what we will need this evening if it becomes a set piece battle.

I dont really see it. Wrexham had a tough game yesterday so they wont be going into Tuesday night fresh. We will have Downes and Matsuki back who will have had a break plus possibly Stepehens and Leo based on team selection tonight.

Playing Ipswich straight after an international break where our rhythm may have been knocked a bit would have been awkward. At least now there is the chance when we play them their fate is decided.

Its a distraction but not a bad one. Now should we come through tonight there may well be an issue of course but lets not worry about what might not/probably wont happen.

No unfortunately not as St Mary's capacity has reduced over the years with seats being removed for requirements for subs benches / tv + VAR  cameras , we used to be able to get 32k (record is Coventry at home i think) , now we can only fit just over 31k. Will be interesting to see how much segregation they leave in Kingsland Centre. 

I think all hospitality packages are sold now so should be 31k there tonight, im hoping we enjoy the game without too many reminders of why we don't really want to get promoted (VAR, half and half scarf fans, big club bias refs etc)

Totally agree. For as long as I can remember, we've always been shite in the first game after an international break. So in a way it's good that the fixtures were re-arranged for this. It gives us a chance to get our customary crap post-international performance and result out of our system in a game that doesn't really matter*, rather than using up one of our few remaining league games for it. And if by some miracle we do manage to win it then that's just an unexpected bonus.

* Yes I'm aware it does really matter to some. What I mean is it's a free hit that won't hurt our playoff chances if we lose.
