Southampton have enjoyed an impressive improvement since Eckert, a 33-year-old former Germany men’s analyst, took charge last November. They are unbeaten in their last 19 Championship games and beat Arsenal to reach the FA Cup semi-finals. Were any misconduct charges upheld against the club it would arguably become impossible for any of their recent results to be regarded as fair.

This last line is absolutely hilarious. Impossible for any of their recent results to be regarded as fair as an intern may or may not have been in a bush before a single match?! You think about all the tapping up, financial bribes etc and someone is suggesting this is absolutely hilarious.

Gets more farcical as the day goes on. How many times has their story changed now? Like dealing with fucking toddlers 😂

Absolutely. It's a ridiculous state of affairs, I must say. Talk about making a mountain out of a mole hill. Some of their comments are nonsensical, they really are.

The amount of truth in the original story was always dubious. With their ever-changing accounts it now becomes a story with the reliability of a fucking dystopian fairytale.

I know we've got some wet fannies on this forum, but looking at theirs it seems like someone has spilt a whole bucket of lube on the equation too. I genuinely don't think our fan base would be (as) annoyed if it was the other way around.

They seem to be - genuinely - suggesting we should forfeit the game/play behind closed doors / expelled from the competition etc.

This is a conspiracy theory on the level of Bill Gates and the COVID vaccine nanobots.

Let's get MLT on the case, he'll have it solved in no time

They know they've got no chance over 2 legs...

I don't know why, but I've got this nagging hunch that there's some kind of a connection between this supposed spying incident and the pre-match press conference, somewhat unusually, taking place on Wednesday (rather than the normal Thursday or Friday) this week...

It's almost as if the club knew something was about to happen and wanted to make sure that Tonda's press conference didn't get caught in the  cross fire....

Other conspiracy theories are available.... ;)

My conspiracy is that it’s actually a Boro fan that’s been caught and they’re trying to rile their own fans up because they struggled to sell tickets.

Then it was shared to the most gullible newspaper that would take the story.

Boro also held their press conference on Wednesday.

The bbc are stating that the analyst who most believe to be the intern Will Salt whom Boro staff recognised from the picture on the official Southampton website , I’ve not looked but would we have a picture of an intern on the website so that can be proved ?

His photo is on LinkedIn, not the OS... (Albert Jones is the only 'first team analyst' shown on the website)

I will admit part of me posted that to stoke your conspiracy fears. Another part posted it in the hopes of allaying them.

Apologies if this has been covered , but if Boro really found a “ spy “ with footage why  would they force him to delete the  actual evidence ?

Yep, that bit of the story makes no sense whatsoever

What was the Saintsweb reaction to the Leeds spy gate in Jan 2019?

This is so funny.

The mock outrage of a team trying to figure out what their opponents may be doing.

Boro's training ground might as well be in a public park for crying out loud.

Grow up.

Leeds' punishment was a £200k fine and a formal reprimand. So, the play-offs are still on, sorry Middlesbrough.

And then they toughened up the rules and punishments thereafter....

Is that the best they've got?

No actual evidence then. How disappointing. "Changed his appearance " could be anything. Are they even sure it was the same person? Which gender toilets did he/she use?

Taking photos/videos on a mobile phone? Any respectable spy would surely use one of these.images.jpeg.f1506522e1d2c8e29b8ab5635cd1cbab.jpeg

You’d wear smart glasses 🤓

89th minute, Saints corner, king of the shithousery Captain Jack with the winner to make it 2-1 to us. Runs to the Boro fans with his hands to his eyes like a pair of binoculars, Boro fans absolute lose their shit, piss well and truly boiled.

Thats my dream for tomorrow.

Google images include photos from LinkedIn that the person may have liked or been tagged in as well. It's a bit random.

Either way, I can't see the club sending an intern up there to scout with a mobile and set of wired earphones. Either he acted alone or it's someone else completely, which is quite likely.
