Then you think where do players like Shea Charles and THB go. Shea looks like he could be off to Fulham, but I'm hoping THB will fit in nowhere. Can see West Ham with all their millions making a bid but otherwise, not too sure where he'd fit in. 

It makes no sense for THB to go to West Ham. He’s already been promoted twice, could have been 3 times, played in the premier league and for England. He doesn’t have anything to prove at the level. If he’s going to go it’s because a premier league team want him he won’t go to a top 6 club but there would be a handful of lower half teams who would take him.

I guess if no PL team is showing interest then West Ham might be a decent option. Maybe a new bumper contract on more money and perhaps a team more likely to get promotion? It's not beyond the realms of possibility, but are West Ham realistically going to spend £25-£30m on a CB whilst in this division?

Probably not if they have Kilman, Todibo and the Greek lad who I have no chance of spelling.

Konstantinos Mavropanos...I think there was some talk of interest from Leeds and Arsenal, but no idea if it's credible talk. They seem pretty set in that position unless there is a departure. They perhaps need one more, but they have two young guys that might be able to step up as fourth choice, not sure if they are ready or not.

Maybe but it’s not an upwards move this season. I’m fairly sure later in the window when clubs have missed out on other targets a bottom half team will come in for him. He’ll be a good signing for one of those

Would we accept a 25 million pound offer from West Ham for THB? That seems rather unlikely to me.

I've been wrong when predicting football before but I'd suggest it would be very unlikely that we would sell our best player to a direct rival in this league without the money being huge. £40 million might do it and I can't see them thinking that was worth it.

I think THB is in a bit of a weird situation in that some things he does at an excellent level - attacking headers, picking passes going forward - but some things he's not great at for the top level, like defending against pacey and strong attackers like the top teams have. I'm not sure if a PL team would come in for him, even a lower half one, if we're asking for 20 mill+. He might be better suited to  somewhere like Spain or Italy actually.

As ever, it depends on whether the player wants the move or not. If he does,  I suspect we would take that. Perhaps even 20. There is the lure of London, and playing in a team that appears like it is gunning for immediate promotion, whereas the uncertainty around our own manager's position may also be a little unsettling for some. We need to offer him more money if the rumours about his weekly wage are true. Or at least offer big goal bonuses...

I'd be astounded if we were prepared to take a loss on THB.

Because he's more of a vocal leader than Stephens and it may persuade him to stay. He also seems like a player who thrives with that responsibility and he is likely to play more games than Stephens if he stays. I'd make Stephens club captain like Kelvin was.
