According to Transfermarket, we paid £900,000 for Juan when his market value was £800,000, sold him for £900,000 when his market value was £2,500,000 and now his market value is £12,000,000.  Didn't we do well?

Anyway, a more Saintsy signing than buying Juan back from Goztepe would be Evan Ferguson, who is 21, and therefore young, hungry and guaranteed to improve, and, more importantly, injured and not expected to play for another month or two or evan three.  Veritably, a perfect fit for us.

Seems to be players we fought tooth and nail to get decent fees for last year are now fetching more than twice as much one year later - Fernandes, Tall Paul and probably Ballard. Waiting for Dibling, Sulemana, Bella Kotcha and Edward’s to go for extraordinary fees…..!

Absolutely awesome news and justification, if ever it was needed, of the efficacy of the multi club model.

yes, but as our Turkish supporting cousin has informed us, he never set foot in any of our facilities...so an even bigger win for us

It does beg the question why you didn’t. I’m broadly pro multi club model in theory but I don’t understand the way the Juan deal worked. Sharing players, expertise, networks etc I’m on board with but the Juan deal felt odd.

Assumed he was going to go to Scotland which would've been fair enough.

Going to a much worse Championship team is really strange though. He must have really taken issue with us delaying the contract talks, which was a fully understandable move from our side.

I suspect its more that they're willing to offer more than the 1 year we are. 

To be fair, I get it from his persepctive, he's probably 1 injury away from being done all together. 

I would imagine when we left the club a couple of months back, he'd have expected to land a better gig than Swansea.

Well that’s a surprise. Moving further away from home to a lesser team. I hope we have a good replacement lined up and that’s the position we are close to announcing.

Personally I think Swansea were offering a longer deal. If I were Spors I'd only be offering a year's contract with an extension activated upon promotion.

Sounds that way, but why would he expect to play in the prem when he can't even be available to play anyway?! He probably didn't realise he'd have to take such a large pay cut to join a Scottish team and had burnt his bridges with us a bit...!

Now watch us sign someone who's never been injured and does his ACL in the first match.

I think it’s more about contract length than anything else. He seemed very keen to stay on all the club videos around the fa cup semi. 

We had a clause, it was no longer valid. He’s going where the longer contract is due to his fitness challenges. No player is choosing Swansea over Saints for any other reason at this moment in time.
