Depends on who and what we replace them with. A reliable back up GK would be useful too.

I think Alfie House was saying a few weeks ago that they're expecting another GK to come in once they shift Ramsdale and Bazunu. Probably a younger GK with Long as the veteran of the group of three senior pros 1

Long was essentially signed as third choice last season as I recall. Reading the Norwich fans reviews it seems he’s fine providing not called upon to play. He might be great as a training partner but if Petetz is injured or suspended then we could be buggered. Need an option we’re confident of playing if needed. Fully agree with later comments that we need to move Ramsdale and Bazunu on first though. Especially Ramsdale with the salary burden. 2

Pilchards Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago Please don’t dick up this striker signing. Spunk up some cash and use him to play in the EPL next season when we go up. Need to keep an eye on strikers coming into to other clubs as that should be a sign they have their own replacement.

It's not just about ability, it's attitude, importance to the dressing room, positivity and organisational ability. I think with our squad and the relationships he's fostered Peretz is the one we wanted and the one we need now. Also no doubt considerably cheaper wage wise too. I don’t think I’ve seen anyone suggesting ‘bad apple’ etc or poor attitude. He wanted to stay in the EPL to protect his chances of World Cup selection, and we didn’t want his hefty wages after relegation. I don’t suspect he’s kicking up a rumpus in the background, that seems out of character. In fairness I think the same can probably be said of Bazunu. 3
Chez Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago there seems to be no PL slots available to Ramsdale and not a lot of noise.

Agree, definitely some recency bias in some answers. No issues with Ramsdale from his time with us or his choice and manner of him leaving. During a shocking season I can only recollect one goal conceded where I thought he was at fault ( first at home to Wolves). If Peretz hadn’t signed in June I’d have been happy with Ramsdale coming back in, altjough highly unlikely of course. Also agree with comments re Peretz return, the one we most wanted and great to have him. Seems a good influence (as I think Ramsdale is also). Deciding which is ‘better’ is a closer run thing. Peretz had a few moments last season (Preston away, the goals conceded at Doncaster) to give concern. Ramsdale has proven himself in the EPL. Perhaps Peretz has the greater potential. Happy with either as No 1 choice, but need to sort the No2 out. 3
