I think we’re working hard to secure another forward on loan before the deadline, while briefing Alfie House and others that our business is done beyond Abbott. If someone arrives, it’s a surprise signing; if nobody does, the line is: “We told you we were done.”

I just can’t imagine us sanctioning Archer’s departure - and potentially Edozie’s too - without replacing at least one of them.

Looked into this when it was reported. Turns out it was extremely lazy reporting - Not going to go back over it for the numbers, but if i recall correctly it was a "headline" figure of exclusively the money we owed on installments - and it ignores the money we had coming in, no least in light of the further sales we had made since those figures were originally published (which were substantial). So in short, only half the story or basically a non story.

If saints were short of money or in any danger of breaching financial limits, we would not have signed Peretz and Larin prior to the end of the PSR 3-year cut off window this summer.

Under Spors, i've been very impressed with how well we've navigated the tightrope left to us through terrible squad structuring and transfer deals under Rasmus / Wilcox / Martin - we've managed to assemble a very competitive first team, steadily cleared out the shit, and paid down the outstanding debt significantly (last years published accounts).

And what's your basis for Meghoma being good enough for the Premier League? Football Manager? FIFA?

I didn't say he was, I said he's better than Manning or Welington.

Yes, unless you think Brentford would be playing Manning or Welington if they were on their books?

Neither Manning or Welington will ever be good enough for the Prem.

If Meghoma is that good -he isn’t look at Rangers loan - where are the clubs clamouring for him apart from bottom dwellers in Championship?

Again, what's this based on?

A handful of appearances compared to Manning, who has done very well oevrall since he became a Saints player, or Welington who hasn't been as prolific but certainly hasn't been shit when he's played.

I just don't get the logic in how you can say that Meghoma is a better choice LB.

Even Manning played decent in the Premier League compared to some of the clowns that season.

I'm not a huge fan of Wellington, but he is certainly streets ahead of Meghoma. Must be a reason why Meghoma has already been on the books of six clubs by the age of 20.

Has he ever actually made a PL appearance for Brentford, or indeed anyone? He might go on to have a decent career but so far I don’t know what you’re basing your assessment of him on.

Meghoma has played for Brentford:
4' in the PL for Brentford against Chelsea. Dec 2024.
He's played three times at Left Back in three EFL Cup games:
Subbed off after 84' in a win over Leyton Orient. Sept 2024
Subbed off after 70' for Mads Roeslev (who cannot get in our team) whilst drawing 1-1 with Sheffield Wednesday. Oct 2024.
Subbed on for 16' in their 3-1 loss to Newcastle in the Quarter final Dec 2024.

Last season he was subbed off in 10 of the 27 SPL games he played for Rangers.
Scored 1 and assisted 6 across all the 44 games he played for them.

It doesn't shout that he is better than 23 cap ROI player Ryan Manning, who has played 107 times for Saints and scored 9 goals.

32yo winger with persistent knee injury.

Since 21st October 2023 - season ending knee injury - out for over a year.
2024-25 - Came off the bench 8 times. Injured for the rest
2025-26 - Played 2', 1' and 31' in the last 3 games of the season for Brighton, 4' in March. Out for the rest of the season through injury. Departed Brighton at the end of the season and hasn't played this year yet.

Such a brave, brave hombre and trains like el toro.

Has a tendency to play it backwards and sideways though.

Will he bring Matéus Gill with him?

Saw him play for Rangers in the SPL a few times with mixed results. Started off alright, but quickly regressed along with the rest of the team, although to be fair to them all they were being asked to play demented football by a be-curtained buffoon.

His main problem is that he's Larios-levels of teeny tiny. He'd get annihilated in the Prem.

I was just reminded of this lad:
Sillah Dibaga, 19.5yo

Aside from his 60' against Leicester back in Feb in the FA Cup has anyone seen him play recently?

CHDAJFU if Scienza gets injured? Or would Dobbin definitely get the nod?

Gemini suggests direct running, productive playmaker on the left wing who can stretch defences and create width. Good at crossing, quite mature and good at dealing with nerves. Who knows how accurate that is.

Fans scored him 6.89 on the BBC match report - so 10th of the 17 players who made it onto the pitch including extra time. He came on for Edozie on 63'.

Pretty sure I heard somewhere that he has a long term injury. Can’t remember where, but it was earlier in the summer when he was not included in the preseason.

No idea how long he is out for or what sort of injury.

Probably pretty far off being any sort of squad option this season.

SSN all new low today. Feels like a long time since dildo's, blow up dolls and Redknapp leaning out of the car window.

We've now had someone on a guitar performing a song in the studio about the signings made across all deadline days.

I think that's the death knell for SSN!

Could be a good fit, and Larin would be there to deal with any language problems eh !

Did you watch him a lot at Rangers last year?

I did. He's not at the same level as either Welington or Manning. But he'll probably have a higher ceiling on FM, which is what really counts.

Did I hear someone recently suggest that there was an injury issue for our U21 centre forward Baylee Dipepa? - The Larin under-understudy rather than the Scienza under-understudy!

Not as addictive as crack cocaine. Easy to give up. In fact I've given up  looking at this thread 3 times today alone 😉
