3-1 and Argie tears. They are lucky the fans are largely wealthy backend boomers with their kids and not our proper lads

The players need cool heads tonight. Worst case we keep it tight and then bring on some pace later in the game when they're tired.

Feels weird as an England fan to go into a game with a big nation and feel quite optimistic

4-0 England. We are going to blow them away. It's going to be one of the greatest England nights ever.

Unlike the clueless Argentina manager, who has (checks notes) won the World Cup.

Argentina are the current World Cup holders so let's just give up now.

The only thing that stopping red cards being a dead cert is the fact that the ref has refrained from Booking people for what would normally be bookable offences

They’ve already started being dirty. Jed Spence looks lively down the left-wing.

Tuchel should instruct players to kick Messi out the game, take one for team.

Simeone’s a cunt. His dad’s a cunt. If either of them were murdered, they’d still be cunts.

England need to up the pace, less fannying around and more balls in behind Argentina for runners please.

Yeah, needs more directness, use the pace we have and get in behind their wing backs.

How is it that the first Yellow Card is for an England player?

That challenge is the same as the 9823749238 others that the Argies have committed?

Of course the ref gives the first yellow to us, having let several Argentinian cynical fouls go unpunished

That was not even a cynical foul and it gets a yellow

it’s inescapable to conclude that it’s just because it was Messi on the receiving end

England playing it short to wingers just means the ball goes back. Needs to go long in behind.

Bags of space in behind their wingbacks, get them turned around. Negates Argies only source of width.

Nearly there, right idea.

Ref letting them get in his face and dictate his officiating.

As is the traditional way in this fixture and "we" and the officials always fall for it.

Ref saw through Fernandez there, can see why he’s regarded as such a cunt at Chelsea. Good that arguing the point on the corner not taken.

Messi being a cunt as well.

How can it only be 3 minutes stoppage time? The water break alone is 3 minutes and that was one of the most stop start halfs we've seen this tournament.
