On that we agree.

Still should never bet against your country in a game like this. Poor form imo.

I tend to agree.

But I could see it happening. Easy money (sadly).

Tuchel should be fired tonight.  Fucking useless prick cost England the game.  IT was there to be won and instead of trying to get the killer second the genius thought they coud sit right back and keep Argentina out for 35+ minutes.

Utter embarrassment and the right team won - England did not deserve anything from that game and it's not like they are the plucky underdogs like Cape Verde or Egypt.  They had the skills and power up front to do damage and chose not to.

Spineless management

What they lack in talent they make up for in shithousery. This will be difficult to overcome.

Probably the biggest danger is us scoring first, sitting back encouraging them on to us while the ref tries to even things up. No place for hiding this time.

Damn.

We over performed to get to the semis but bottled it in this game. The best team won but we made it easy for them by inviting them on.

Nope. We were the better team until we scored, then we decided to not bother playing any more. What would Spain have done? They'd have kept up their high press and kept trying to get possession.

Probably the most amateurish game management I've seen, and we've had some pretty awful managers on the south coast. Take the lead, take a load of attackers off for defenders. They dominate, no change, they equalise, no change, they win the match.

What an utterly miserable couple of months of football, right guys? We've been so close to two finals and had it snatched away.

Let's face it. Argentina could have scored 3 or 4 after England nicked a lead. Just a shame to go out with a mighty whimper.

They were absolutely a class above us after we scored

Well yeah, because we stopped doing everything that had gotten us to that point. We stopped being physical and pressing and just let them walk it up to our box.

Some real quality - De Paul's crosses, some excellent shots, hit the post. Deserved their goals. We deserved fuck all the way we sat back and invited pressure

Do not let that German cunt on the plane.

What a fucking shambles.

Tuchel has to take much blame for the tactical approach at 1-0.    Way too early to put up the shutters and defend so deep with those defensive substitutions.  Sure Argentina lifted a gear but the momentum and space was handed to them.   In the end it was a meek and avoidable surrender.

Ran out of ideas after 70 minutes and unlike the Azteca, Argentina had the quality to put world class deliveries in and test Pickford.

I don't think we ran out of ideas.

The manager closed down our options to have ideas.

If we'd played as we were for another 10-15 minutes after scoring, I think we'd have seen the job through.

Awful management.

Scoring the goal was the worst thing that happened to us. Immediately went defensive and sat back. Why can't we just behave like a normal team.

Just showed lack of belief, a good side would have kept it the same and looked to nick a second.

Some of the most bizarre and inept 'tactics' I have witnessed in any professional game. Get in front and then, with over a third of the game still to go, try and defend deep against the world champions.  Total and utter suicidal garbage.
