FFS it is not a straightforward comparison between Eckert and Biesla!!! It is a misconduct rule which encompasses the range of breaches that I've mentioned before and different breaches (of which there have been many by various different people like Prutton, Suarez, Di Canio etc) have been met with different sanctions .

I don't know what is so difficult to understand either but you are doing your best to prove me wrong!

I'm aware. My question which you ignored earlier is in what way the breach from Tonda is different to the breach from Bielsa which would result in a much greater punishment than a warning?

I don't know is the answer as I am not the FA nor the independent disciplinary panel!!  Ultimately they will decide how severe a breach of their misconduct rules it is and will sanction appropriately but, as I've said several times, the most severe sanction meted out is 10 games so that has realistically had to be the worst case outcome.

Bielsa was charged by the FA under their misconduct rules and received a warning. Other cases of misconduct (racism, biting, striking, betting etc) have received a variety of bans but 10 games but 10 games appears to be the most severe punishment handed out

Pretty sure Biesla wasn't charged.

Said it before but imo the new EFL rule is still relevant to the FA side because breaking a known rule is a 'worse' case of misconduct than doing something which isn't against any explicit rules but is culturally frowned upon.

Fine then we agree. There is nothing that either of us can think of about this Tonda charge that is materially different from the Bielsa charge (other than the EFL rule break that you state is an irrelevance.) yet both of us accept that it is highly likely that he will receive a harsher punishment. Will be interesting to read the justification for doing so.

That's what I just said. It will be interesting to see if anything like that is mentioned if we ever get to see the details of any ruling.

Interesting. I wonder if our result has been released already and we are keeping it secret while we appeal?

I wondered similar.

In the Chelsea case the written reasons from the initial hearing are dated 12th January, the appeal hearing was held on 18th May, and the written decision/reasons from that (and the initial hearing) have not been released until today.

I'm not suggesting the Tonda case will have anything near as extended a timeline, but it seems notable that it in the event of an appeal the intial decision doesn't seem to be released.

So MB you wish one of our player a long term injury and you make up that we will know decision from fa today. But you are a really good source apparently. Useless.

I can't begin to say how much I just want to get back to thinking about the football.

I'm with you on this - I'm retired and a carer for my wife so I'm always checking on here and to be honest it is depressing and a bit uninteresting. This is not a pop at anyone by the way, I know what my posts are like so I have no foot to stand on but crikey this and signings part is a dull as ditch water and has no real updates and it's been ages - that part on here is the FAs fault and I did comment about it earlier - it is incompotent and leaves them open for being appealed against - you cannot leave any club hanging on and on just before the season starts - it is deeply biased and unfair. Simple as that.

Also I am making my tee-shirt with the design that I posted on the other Spygate Thread. F 'em!

I don’t for one second believe that he really wants Downs to get badly injured. It might be poor taste to throw out that comment, but not sinister. Surely you don’t believe that either?

When it comes to his IKT status, I have no idea if he’s legit, but I would rather have people dropping snippets they hear here and decide for myself who and what to believe.

This place will be a lot less interesting without any of them, both genuine and bullshitters. Every time someone posts something they hear people come out with pitchforks if it doesn’t come off. Just leave it. If they are genuine and got bad info they will keep posting, and if they are full of shit they will stop as nobody reacts.

Good to see Larin back today from World Cup Duty

Good to see something useful on this thread, instead of all the drivel being posted. Did Larin look fit? It's been a while since we saw him labouring with some sort of injury in Canada's 3rd game, with no proper preseason and his fitness issues I don't feel that confident of relying on Cyle, much as I like the guy, he will probably struggle to start 30 games this season.

So sorry to be realistic. Everyone has rose tinted specs with Cyle, but the truth is he doesn't seem to be much different to Stewart, in terms of availablity.

Serious question couldn’t someone above tonda like solak have taken the blame for soygate tonda is a coach it’s not like he runs the club fron top to bottom..  and surely even if it’s purely tonda idea he had to get it greenlighted somewhere ? Coach doesn’t even have main say on recruitment these days so it’s seems bullshit this is all on him ?

I think it’s more a case of the manager being the one that most reports to and therefore he is responsible even if he didn’t do or order the spying directly himself.

I guess they could have argued that it works differently at our club, but since they have interviewed Tonda I’m pretty sure he has taken the responsibility.

I think Sugawara or Lallana should take some of the blame for this one

How do you feel now you’ve got the permanent job ? Still working for Villa at all ?

Can’t we just blame Eric Black?

Yeah I just think maybe it would have been more sensible for someone like dragon to have taken the flak .. nothing they could have really done about banning him

I love that we backed tonda but maybe could have done more on not letting him take the blame

Pretty obvious he did direct the spying himself.

Yeah, I agree - but I was talking about that even in a different situation, where the manager had not, he would still hold some form of responsibility.

Not trying to start a discussion on if Tonda did or did not. There are enough of these kind of quarrels going on here. I was just trying to answer a question posed by another poster.

Not sure if he did this totally off his own back it’s more likely he got sacked .. don’t think he just would just takd that gamble without oking it

I don't think Larin missed any games due to injury with us last season did he?  In fact he seems to have been relatively injury free for the majority of his career.

10 minute interview uploaded by the club an hour ago. Read into it what you want.

This is great. I’m only a minute in and it’s revealed he’s recently become a dad. Finally, a smidgen of an insight into his life.

Also, this guy out Lampards Lampard in the Lampardian jovial to stern stakes. The change in him at 28 seconds talking about understanding the service personnel to back to serious matters was exceptional.

I really hope we have some good news from the FA investigation. I think he’s the real deal.

Lallana will step in as interim if Eckert gets anything more than a touchline ban.

Can't imagine we'll be appointing an interim in the event of a long ban. Makes no sense on multiple levels.

We'll almost certainly sack Tonda if he's banned for months.

Sylla, GoN, JWP, Tonda being sacked in May and this. You’ve got a wild unfortunate habit of being right about things that change last minute. That’s not even taking into account your other profile you threw a tantrum on, your misogyny and desperation for some of our players to be injured. It’s a cracking track record to be fair.

I think you need to lighten up tmate. Not all whispers come through, and I suspect many people prefer posters who offer up what they hear rather than posters who come down on those that do.

Always been this weird thing on here with every one who shares anything that it’s almost like people are desperate for it to be wrong so they can ridicule them if it doesn’t happen. Very strange behaviour.

Yep. Years back I got regular info, as I  know tyou did. Posting the occasional bits up got shitty responses so I stopped bothering. I love a good bit of itk stuff, but we all know that things change, that the source has misunderstood, etc, but it's a sad state of affairs when people rip into others for passing on what they've heard.

It’s why the good ITKs don’t bother any more and you can see why!
