Bob60 Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago I think Larin deserves credit for the second goal as well, before he came on that clearance goes out for a throw to them. He not only kept it in but laid it off. 7
Baird of the land Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Happy we got the win. got to get busy with a replacement positive cm and a 2nd CF though

Thought Archer was decent and is a player we should keep as he is a useful asset and we won't get much for him. Better to keep him than sell him cheaply. 10

Changing Bazunu and Armstrong/Archer for Peretz and Stewart/Larin made the biggest differences last term. Having a four of Downes, Charles, Jander and Bragg was a privilege. Big chance for Bragg to be more of a CM cog if Charles goes as expected. Thank god the Bazunu experiment is over (as you say, hopefully). His disastrous spell at Stoke really only served to enforced his quite obvious flaws. Was bizarre how long certain fans defended him. 4
Convict Colony Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago guys larin is not getting enough love and I'm disappointed. All of the strikers we have had over the last 5 yrs and he legit it the only one dying to get into that 6yrd box, scooping up these crosses and you all take it for granted. I see him scoring 20 this year. 15

Che did a decent stint as second striker but not sure I’d go quite as far as calling him a focal point in the sane way. 2

He's a bit of everything, tap in merchant, runs and shoots, can hold the ball up. He's still not old for a footballer too these days and you can tell he has bags of experience. The WC highlighted he can do it on the big stage too. Another striker in a similar vein and we will cook this season. 3

Vancouver Saint Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Caught the second half on a small screen link with no commentary - looked like we were totally dominating. Any other Canadian Saints fans got a solution for watching this season? DAZN only airs selected matches live (what a stupid format - don't they realise we follow our team and want to watch all their games not just the six or seven they choose to televise?) - and Saints Player is also bloody useless because it just is and they don't have the rights to air the DAZN games in Canada...so if you want to watch all games you have to pay for both DAZN and Saints Player - more than to watch Premier League - ridiculous. Anyone at the club interested? I'm thinking not.
Osvaldorama Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Very very decent second half. Love it. Up the saints. Excited for the season.

SouSaint Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Job done, looked a lot better once subs were made. Personally wouldn't be against trying to bin off Fellows and bring in another winger. 1

But his finishing and final ball lets him down every time.

coalman Posted 54 minutes ago Posted 54 minutes ago 8 minutes ago, Chez said: what was bbd like up front? He made every part of football look laboured and awkward including walking off to be substituted. About as mobile as a kitchen cabinet and with a worse first touch. 1 1
SWLondon Saint Posted 47 minutes ago Posted 47 minutes ago 12 minutes ago, Chez said: what was bbd like up front? His highlights were the time he dropped off into midfield in space and got a decent ball, and his first touch was so bad the ball bounced so far it went to their full back I think, and also the mostly free header he had from an excellent cross where he just got it all wrong and it floated harmlessly over the crossbar when he should have hit the target at least.

Lighthouse Posted 36 minutes ago Posted 36 minutes ago 23 minutes ago, Chez said: what was bbd like up front? TBH the whole front half of the team looked a bit out of sorts, I'd say because we were missing Jander/Charles, Azaz and Larin straight through the spine of it. Matsuki didn't really impose himself in a deeper role and the final balls from Scienza and Fellows were often wayward. BBD certainly didn't force his name onto the team sheet for Watford but I can't really blame him too much either. It's not like the rest of the team had them on toast.

You can be as forgiving as you want but the bloke was absolutely hopeless yet again. Horrendous footballer. 3
SaintTex Posted 15 minutes ago Posted 15 minutes ago (edited) well the win was the most important thing. Tonda probably learned what worked and didnt work after that first half. but again.. the win. It needs to be a habit going into League play, we need to climb out of the point hole relatively quickly or i feel like discouragement will set in early. Edited 14 minutes ago by SaintTex

Fair enough view but as an experienced Chilean international he should be able to do the basics. His touch is worse than Carlton Palmer, he can control it further than I can kick it, his header was so off balance it was a pathetic attempt. His miskick in front of goal summed him up ….just awful. Im not a fan.

Great to have two proper players top and bottom of our spine.
