That’s because it is. Even a win today is the equivalent of losing in any other season. FFS we’re 7 points behind Pompey already, of course it’s must win.

All matches are important. We should be aiming to win every match we play. To call the second game in a “must win” match is a stretch, even for the usual bedwetters. What if we win this and lose the next, or is every game until we are in the top six going to be dubbed “must win?” I hate to burst your bubble, but we are not going to get to the end of the season and only lose 2 matches if we lose today. If by some miracle we do, will people look back at a loss today and still spit their dummies out? There is a very long way to go and there is still time in the transfer window to improve the squad. Call me old fashioned, but I am saving the wrist slitting until the situation actually calls for it. 😉

Exactly. If you can’t beat Watford or Stoke, who are you actually going to beat? Especially when you’ve said you want autos, you can’t follow it up with 2 defeats to those.

I think Spors likes doing his transfer business late. 

1st team Players brought in before 21/8 last summer: Quarshie, Downs

1st team Players brought in after 21/8 last summer: Roerslev, Azaz, Fellows, Jander, Scienza, Long, Jelert

Puts lots of pressure on him to get it right though, and we need to pick some decent points up before 1/9 if we want to be promoted automatically

Remind me where we were when Still was sacked last season and where we ended up finishing?

Turning on the game, and the first thing I hear is "expelled from the playoffs" and "the spygate scandal" and within a minute he said the same thing again.

Man United couldn’t beat Hull. Is their season over if they lose the next game too?

Its a complete joke that we let him go, one of the worst decisions i've seen from the club towards academy players recently - and I am fully aware we can't keep all of them, but we seem to not try with the potential superstars (Gomes, Miles, JJ, Dibling etc), and then let someone like Ballard (still a very talented and promising young lad that actually wanted to stay and should have had his chance) slip away as well... Who exactly are we intending to keep ffs. And it also sets a poor precendent for the next ones coming through - no need for loyalty lads - first big offer and you'll be off, saints are just here to get you in the window. Personally, it should be utterly unacceptable at saints to disrespect the academy the way SR have done in recent years, signing shit after shit to clog the first team and letting all these nippers go, when in seasons gone by they'd have been bedded into the team. It might be looking temporarily better now under Eckert and Spors... but even now we're losing gems from the younger age groups and still have a bloated squad blocking opportunities for players like Romeo. Needs to be a hard change in stance that every matchday squad includes a certain number of academy players.
