That was the surprise of the second half for me.   With the injury to Downes and the abysmal first half put in by Bragg, you had to be worried.    Fair play to young Bragg, it was a much more confident second half, and one which might kick start his season.    Ward-Prowse looked immediately comfortable, although to be fair, once Cooper conceded that penalty the wind went out of Milwall's sails.

So much to like about that performance.   Nearly a hat trick for Larin; his two goals both top drawer.  Azaz ran the show in the second half...    Leo looking back to his best.    Bree's best showing so far; he overlapped and combined well with Matsuki who justified Tonda's decision to start him at RW.     The new centre back was impressive, calm, composed and his passing nearly faultless.   Manning once again reminded us that despite being suspect defensively, he has such a magic left foot and attacking wing back instincts to recommend him.

Was travelling so only caught some of the game on radio Solent. Brilliant result and sounded like some stand-out performances particularly from Azaz, Larin and Schlott.

I feared for us against Millwall so enjoying a helping of humble pie.

Our midfield must have held up well even when Downes went off and with Jander to come back maybe we have enough.

This is a great win and we have our mojo back so hats off to Tonda and the boys.

What a win, back to our very best after a poor first 20 mins.

Cyle “The Championship Drogba” Larin is a beast of CF. 
 

New CB is excellent. Azaz again outstanding.

shout out to Bragg, thought he was poor first half but had a very good second half.

Matsuki back out wide and very good, his best position.

a real statement win

Down in Cornwall so haven't been able to follow this very well....but bloody superb result and cannot wait to watch the highlights!

To be 100% clear, if you are only attending SMS for the result, its a good job you can't afford it anymore.

No he did not. We had a brilliant season after Eckert took over. It was one of the most entertaining for years. But, Hull did the double over us and proved they were the best team in the play-offs so even if we'd got to Wembley, they'd probably have won. Good luck to them. They deserve to be in the Premier League. If we'd had any other manager, we'd have got nowhere near the play-offs. The transformation under Eckert was incredible.

I'm looking forward to another brilliant season under Tonda Eckert and promotion at the end of it.

Rode our luck, were incredibly poor first 15 minutes and the start of the second half. 

Worrying weak at the back, Bragg not at the level. Sloppy mistakes all over the pitch (first half).

On another day it could have easily been a different result had they not missed an open goal to make it 2-2 just before half time. 

That being said, we looked frightening going forwards and were ruthless with our opportunities which is what football is about. 5-1 flattered us, but winning is a habbit and hopefully that and stoke (which was also poor), gives us a solid platform to build on.

Well that was fab, they certainly made mincemeat of Millwall.

That game was won in the first 10 minutes. Both teams went toe to toe, no quarter given or asked. Big tackles and lots of intent. Although Millwall scored first, I think Manning was on an early hydration break, you could see that Saints were shifting through the gears.

Well taken goals and really pleased for Fellows. Larin will wonder how on earth he doesn't have the match ball. The hatrick was on for him.

It was the performance that spoke volumes, Saints at their swashbuckling best.

Good 2nd half from Bragg, he is so much better further forward. JWP was a cut above, very understated, but always there. He's a cheat code in this league. West Ham were mad to let him go.

New CB was very assured, makes such a difference, but for goodness sake lay off Stephens. We will need him at some point this season, pointless damming him.

MoTM for me was Matsuki, put in a huge shift. Azaz was enjoying the space he created.

Now rinse and repeat Tuesday

Was a cut above.  Played some excellent 1 and 2 touch football and was always probing.

JWP sat back and kept things ticking over with no mistakes - gave Bragg licence to be creative and go forward which turned Cam's game around (he'd had a crap first half, much improved second half) 

Prowesy had a shot from outside the area towards the end. Hit it really well and looked like it might creep inside the far post, but blocked by a defender and just wide.

Were you at the same game as me? 
Yes they missed a sitter but what about Manning shot that hit the post to put us ahead?

pS sorry put us level just rewatching 

Millwall are a top team and at times we made them look poor yet you just pick the poor bits out!

First 15 yes but look how good we played after

Wow, I was not expecting us to turn over a decent Millwall team quite like that. I think the 26/27 Saints are officially up and running.

We need to build on this momentum, start moving like a steam train. Next 4-6 games is where the leading pack break away.

I’m fully on board with the -4 being a good thing.

The feeling as we move up the table will build more positivity and momentum than if we’d just been trying to stay ahead after a half decent start. A point away at Birmingham is likely to see us move up a place or two, whereas if we didn’t have the deduction, the same result would see us drop some places.

How do you feel about 3 managers that got 12 points in a whole season? Was that not more embarrassing not null and voiding performances over 36 games?

I think most people understand that the punishment was not commensurate with the crime. That is not down to Eckhert. It is down to the EFL.

Exactly, no point crying about it.

 

Tonda is a great manager just get behind the team 🤷‍♂️ if you can’t enjoy today may as well pick another hobby

We were absolutely outstanding after they scored.

We started the game badly but after they scored they didn't threaten us at all. We scored, regained our confidence and never looked back.

I've never seen an away end empty as quick as Millwall. Makes my journey back to London much more pleasant, they've already fucked off!
