a good win against a decent team. Aside from the first 20 minutes or so of the second half we were the better team. Schotterbeck is some player for the money, looks an excellent find. Downes and Ward Prowse good in the middle, Scienza excellent and Azaz good again

Leo my man of the match, which is harsh on Schlotterbeck, Downes, Azaz and JWP. Shout out to Wood too.

Need to pick up an away win soon to banish that gremlin but at home we certainly do look good. 

Downes, JWP, Schlott, Finn and Larin all great tonight. Downes MOTM by a mile though.

That went about as well as expected, glad to see Tonda has started reading my posts and taking note 😌

In all seriousness though, good performance from us. Made Swansea look like the rapid press merchants they are, didn't really give them much outside of a sloppy penalty. Let them blow themselves out and punished the mistakes as they came. Wasteful if anything. I hugely dislike this passing back to Peretz, especially with wood. They don't have the first touch or passing to do it - it's an accident waiting to happen and indirectly led to the penalty in this one as well.

Great again by Larin, azaz, and Scienza.

Onwards and upwards though!

Really good performance, gave them very few chances considering how handy they looked  round the box. Tonda clearly learnt from his mistake in the last game taking leo and Cyle off too early.  Hard to pick a  MoM from that lot. Fullbacks played well but definite shout outs to Schlott ( what a player) Larin Azaz JWP and Downes but Leo was back to his best tonight, for the first time this season. He terrorised their right back all night. Great performance and great win.

Key players turned up azaz, scienza, larin. 

Interesting to see downes playing further forward. Not sure it’s his ideal position but certainly on today’s evidence more effective at it than the crablike jwp.

Agreed. Leo has the X Factor. Solid from everyone else. Bree's cross forgives him for the penalty etc.

Downes credits jwp with making it easy for him to find space and take more risks - I think what we are seeing is the impact of having jwp alongside him, downes doesn't have to carry his midfield partner any more - think we'll see him continue to flourish now.  Jwp and downes must be the strongest midfield pair in the division by some way.

Downes has license to play further forward because JWP sat deeper. It worked today, our CM department worked very well. The 4 CMs we have have to be amongst the best in their position in the League.

Excellent all round performance capped by 3 great goals from open play. The commentators seemed to think Swansea were on top in the second half but we scored one, Leo was denied by a sensational save, there were some scrambles in their box and maybe we should have had a penalty. Over the 90 minutes we were much the better side and deserving of the 3 points.

Good solid win, thought the main guys all showed up today unlike the Lincoln game, and beat a Swansea team on good early form.

Now onto Bristol C....who we still to struggle against 😕

Be a nice time to get a clean sheet for once.

But for a couple of good saves by their keeper we could have won by more tonight. Swansea didn't look like they had much in attack at all. Even their penalty was a gift.

Downes has been excellent all season and was superb tonight.

We’d be top on goal difference tonight without the minus 4. Something for the bedwetters after the draw at Lincoln to think about.

You can thank me later for going to the Annan game, blowing a gale, pouring with rain on an open terrace… Annan winning 4-0 though!

Annan 2-0 - Saints 4-1

Annan 40- - Saints 3-1 

What will the Annan home game bring for Saints on Saturday?

Other than the free kicks JWP has never been a flashy player and to many fans seem to see this as a negative and throw around the ‘crab’ nonsense.  He is clearly an incredibly talented footballer, never in the real top bracket that would see him playing for one of the big clubs but massively under appreciated by some because he does the basics incredibly well and makes room for others to excel.  I for one am incredibly glad to have him back, he is a class above this league and we are lucky to have him!

Downes and Jander still number 1 but JWP adds something different and will keep Jander on his toes to play better.

I hope the lack of competition for Brees place isn't making him complacent. Thought other than the assist he had a poor game tonight and hasn't looked the same this season so far.
