Saints linked with Thatcher

Really don't want him. Just because a rat boy plays for saints wouldn't change the fact he is a ratboy. I'm all up for giving players chances, but I put him in the same league as Barton or Bowyer and really would prefer to sign players of decent calibre. Not ones who commit crimes, or deliberately dreadful tackles on fellow pros.

I agree entirely that he is exactly in the same mould as Bowyer and Barton, in other words a mindless, gormless yob. Why would we want such a player? OK to have wholehearted, gutsy players, but when they gain a reputation for being lunatic nutters, as far as I'm concerned, we shouldn't touch them with a bargepole. We'd have to suffer him probably getting himself banned for several matches, leaving us short of cover and damaging the club's reputation in the process.

Tory cow, I hate her and didn't even know she played football. If she signs I may boycott. Pardew wants his head testing. This sounds like the sort of signing Rupert Lowe would have made.

Won't wear red. Useless, and very predictable. What do we want with a footballer who won't turn round ffs?

See no point at all signing him. Over the hill and Harding is ok at left back.

Plus Keane makes the point Thatcher is not in his starting line up because he can't adhere to basic principles such as getting to training on time.

Harding has been great when I've seen him this season. I can't believe we got him for free as well.

And Thatcher is a dirty bastard.

Don't see the point.

Harding is one of the best LB's in the league and Mills is good enough back up for that.

heck...we even have Molly if worst comes to worst. Would be a pointless signing unless both mills and Molly are leaving.

Is he exclusively a LB then? If he is, then I agree, we don't need him.

If he's a CB, then maybe he is pencilled in to replace Trotman?

he is a saints fan. and as a distant cousin i'd love to see him here may not get a starting spot but good experience to come in when needed. a bit of added grit and passion

Agreed. If his personality is a potential problem, then it is for the club to manage that, and with what we know about ML's moral ethics, if he has Ok'd it then go for it.

Shame we didn't go for former Saint Pelé as a replacement for Trotman. He's gone to Falkirk on a season long loan from West Brom.

Hah, Hah, good one. £ for £ the worst player I have ever seen at Saints. £750k for a CB who couldn't head the ball and had the physical presence of an 80 year old Grannie. Of all the dross that Gormless George pi ssed away £8m on he stands out as the worst buy. And before anyone says he was a half decent midfield player, that's a bit like buying a car and saying that although it doesn't run it can be used as an adequete bottle opener... If Burley had a purchased a decent CB we really might have got promoted that year.

The fact that some god-awful Portugese bloke has the indignity to wear the name of the greatest player ever to lace them up on his shirt still grates with me. I'm sure he will do well at Falkirk [reserves].
