Glasgow_Saint Posted 1 January, 2010 Share Posted 1 January, 2010 I hope AP has a contingency - i think (from the tone of interviews) that Preston had agreed for Trottman to stay (while Irvine was managerr), now the new manager may have insisted a return. Lets hope AP has a plan B prepared or we are stuffed.
Legod Third Coming Posted 1 January, 2010 Share Posted 1 January, 2010 I think Thomas and Jaidi could work. I haven't really seen Thomas do anything wrong this season, just be kept out of the side by people in form...

Junior Mullet Posted 1 January, 2010 Share Posted 1 January, 2010 May have something to do with them getting rid of Irvine. Exactly what I thought although it was generally beleived he would need to go back to Preston anyhow. The new manager will want to take a look and weigh up his options. If Trotman does not cut the mustard we may still see him back if we put in a decent offer.
Leicestersaint Posted 1 January, 2010 Share Posted 1 January, 2010 We really do need to strengthen the CB position with an even better version of Trotman - these are such critical positions and we have not yet got it right consistently (eg Brighton match). david in sweden Posted 1 January, 2010 Share Posted 1 January, 2010 Aaron Martin is probably good enough and reckon he will play v Luton My thoughts, too. after I saw he was named as a sub. recently. He has been at Eastleigh, and Luton are a Conference side so there's not so much difference, and we have to debut him SOMETIME ! Better than having to put him in against a good side in L1. trousers Posted 1 January, 2010 Share Posted 1 January, 2010 played in 4th qual round in October http://www.eastleigh-fc.co.uk/dover-athletic-eastleigh-241009 Logically, the 'qualifying' games for a given tournament are not actually part of the tournament they are qualifying for. The clue is in the word 'qualify'. That said, I am assuming the FA don't bother themselves with trivialities such as logic so I guess in the eyes of the FA it will be classed as the same competition. But if it's the same competition then why call the early rounds 'qualifiers' rather than...ahem....round 1, round 2, round 3 ... (you get my drift...perhaps...) Presumably because we would be at about round 15 by the final. Also I guess that the original FA Cup only had a few rounds and at some stage they started to work backwards. Given that any club that plays in the Cup can win it (theoretically) it is clearly the same competition.

St Marco Posted 1 January, 2010 Share Posted 1 January, 2010 Watched most of his games and felt he did very well for us. Is a shame to lose him. If we have Ollie coming back to take his place then we can kiss our playoff push goodbye in my opinion. Perry and Jaidi will not be able to play every game left as some are 3 games a week. They will get knackered and probably injured by doing that. No offence to Ollie but he is not a player who will improve us. We did the kids thing last year and it failed miserably. We are no longer in a position where we have to make do with what we got. Hopefully Pardew has someone lined up. For some reason i would not be surprised to see Sol Campbell join us. Someone i was speaking to last night said they heard a rumour. But he was ****ed out his nut so chances are it was bull****.
