Saintandy666 Posted 11 January, 2011 Share Posted 11 January, 2011 Peterborough are on a roll at the moment, only 4 points behind us with a game in hand. Don't underestimate them. Also, Darren Ferguson may be back in place by then providing an extra boost for them. I have been watching them warily over the past month or so though. S-Clarke Posted 11 January, 2011 Share Posted 11 January, 2011 You never know trousers. P'boro may have a new manager in place by then, so the new manager effect may work in our favour for once. They're not a bad side and will cause brighton problems. I don't think it'll be easy for Bournemouth at Colchester either...tricky place to go..... Still - let's just win our game. If we keep doing that we'll be ok anyway.

Matthew Le God Posted 11 January, 2011 Share Posted 11 January, 2011 Notts C joint top in form with us Not joint top at all Nick! Yes, joint on points, but goal difference and goals scored is better which is how league positions are determined. It is only "joint top" if all these are equal. saints-cris Posted 12 January, 2011 Share Posted 12 January, 2011 Were good at home and we have to make sure we keep that up. Notts County are guna be far from easy though. As long as we get ahead early on, we'll be fine i think. Need to keep this great run going.

John Boy Saint Posted 12 January, 2011 Share Posted 12 January, 2011 Should be a good game, another team that plays football = a team who will let us play. Got earache off Mrs John Boy on Sunday when I had just got a ticket a couple of weeks back for myself for this game as I thought she was at work, she had wangled her working day to fit the game in: so an additional voice in the choir on Saturday. She ain't too happy at the number of games she has missed thru work this season.

trousers Posted 12 January, 2011 Author Share Posted 12 January, 2011 Dont understand your rationale. Peterborough are doing pretty well at the moment. I am more concerned about our side of the equation. Happy to explain.... My rationale (aka "gut feel") is that I can't see Brighton losing at home to Peterborough, despite Peterborough doing "pretty well" at the moment (Brighton aren't performing too shabbily themselves at the moment either....) Ergo, I would be surprised if we went top of the league at the weekend. That said, 24 hours ago I'd have been surprised if we put 6 past Oldham.... Toomer Posted 12 January, 2011 Share Posted 12 January, 2011 Fear no one respect every one that is what we must do for the remainder of the season, Notts County will be a tight game but we should come out on top by a couple of goals, 3-1.
positivepete Posted 12 January, 2011 Share Posted 12 January, 2011 Should be a good game, another team that plays football = a team who will let us play. Love to think they will let us play, but I suspect a match in the image of their manager, lots of niggling fouls in midfield to stop our build-up play. It will be a test of our character I think. Be prepared for a last minute winner after a scrappy game
dune Posted 12 January, 2011 Share Posted 12 January, 2011 Notts County isn't a tough game. Of course we need to respect them, but they are not a very side and we are a very good side. If we concentrate it'll be a comfortable win.

Window Cleaner Posted 12 January, 2011 Share Posted 12 January, 2011 Notts County will come here for a pitched battle in the mould of all Ince sides. Our lads will have to be careful because there'll be a lot of dirty play and provocation. 53 yellow and 5 red cards to their active so far this season, after about 25 games I guess. Pity we don't have a few hard cases at our disposal just for this game .Nigel will have to warn our "bad lads" not to get involved this time...Morgan,Chappers and Danny this means you. MarkSFC Posted 12 January, 2011 Share Posted 12 January, 2011 I expected and Im sure everyone expected us to beat Brentford......but then we had a break and have hit some quite good form!! The important thing I reckon is nerve in the sense that it could be really tight for 20-25 minutes on Saturday and as long as the crowd does not get impatient or edgy we will be ok. A patient professional 2-0 is my prediction!! And P'Boro to nick a point at Brighton....and Colchester to smash Bournemouth 4-1!!

Bucks Saint Posted 12 January, 2011 Share Posted 12 January, 2011 Tough game. Although after a 6-0 away win I think any game you're then expected to win will prove tough. I hope we haven't peaked, but you'd imagine your performance won't be as good. I think we might have to deal with going a goal down, maybe early on. Really hope they have it in them to win this one too and keep the run going. It's not easy to keep winning week after week but if we play our normal game we'll create plenty of chances again. Does help that we have many goalscorers. Just need the full backs and Schneiderlin to start chipping in with a couple! Morgan should be aiming for 5-10 goals at this level himself, it's fairly pathetic he has 1 in his career for someone who gets into a lot of shooting positions. Spider played very well last night, putting in some robust challenges, but was clearly playing the holding / breaking up play / distributing role. Chappers was more advanced so if plays the same role regularly its a little harsh to talk about the number of shooting positions he gets into. Someone has to hold the fort when everyone else is getting on the scoresheet!

Cabrone Posted 13 January, 2011 Share Posted 13 January, 2011 I think County will park the bus so a tight 1-0 for me. ericofarabia Posted 13 January, 2011 Share Posted 13 January, 2011 Aftrer the way we have been scoring goals for fun, I reckon its a dead cert we will see 1 - 9 - 1 formation from Ince and loads of dirty niggling fouls to try and knock us out of our stride. I'd love a nice flowing 4-1 win but tending to think it'll be a frustrating 1 goal win - unless we get a couple of early goals forcing them to open up. Back in Uk for this one so please reward me with a cracking game so that i can get rid of my jinx label!! COYS

Rory Posted 13 January, 2011 Share Posted 13 January, 2011 I think this will be our toughest test yet, unfortunately. I know we've got a great record against Ince, but Notts County are looking dangerous at the moment. I've got a horrible feeling Lee Hughes might grab a goal in a tight defeat for us. 1-0 Notts County.

S-Clarke Posted 13 January, 2011 Share Posted 13 January, 2011 Let's not be too negative! I know it's odd seeing us win every week and beating (the right) records for once - but i really believe we'll win this and win it well. Lallana, Guly, Lambo and Chambo are on top top form at the moment and it's very hard for any team at this level (or even lower half champ) to contain them when they're on their game (look at Hudds/P'Boro etc - they're much better teams than Notts County and we totally thumped them) Another real plus for me recentley has been the form of Morgan, i think he's been magestic. If he continues that and the front 3 get their usual service, it'll be fine.
Saint Charlie Posted 13 January, 2011 Share Posted 13 January, 2011 If Lallana is out of this game then it does highlight that we need another wide player.
