Ryan Doble

A group of us stayed up in Rochdale, from Friday to Sunday and were dissapointed not to be able to go corporate before game. But never mind, we went to watch the mighty Stockport take on Macclesfield town. Watching him warm up, we got our saints scarfs out sining "1 Ryan Doble, there's only 1 Ryan Doble!"... He did raise a smile... eventually.

Doble and Petterson were both in the line up, but I cant help thinking Doble being there will be a waste of time. They played 4-2-2-2 and doble played as an advanced midfielder on the left. They played hoof ball bypassing him most of the time, and you could see his frustration, they were really bad (loosing 4-1). Also the 4th goal was his fault, loosing the ball, thinking it was going to run out and didnt, and just watching the macclesfield player running away with it not even trying to get back.

On another note, Patterson has beefed up a bit, was a bit lightwieght when he was with us.

Stockport is the sort of place that right now I'd rather we didn't loan are upcoming players too. I really can't imagine it's going to do a lot for Ryan playing in the atmosphere of a broke, relegation from league 2 nailed on club. I suppose it might toughen him up but it could screw up his confidence before he even gets going.

With our track record with loans I'm suprised he didn't end up playing PL.

It was Ryan's debut in professional football - he seems to have been with us for ages, but he's never played any first team football! By the sounds of it the Stockport fans were pretty happy with him first half, but not so much the second. He's played for Wales u/21 but not in the football league, I find that quite hard to fathom!

As for Paterson, my Southend supporting workmates love the lad - but he's been bummed out of Southend because they can't afford to pay him (and he's stuck behind the managers son!). The Stockport fans love him - seemingly he was brilliant on his debut against Bury and scored a beaut! I still think Pardew was wrong to force him out, always thought he had something, now he has to really do it the hard way - could be the making of him?

By the sounds of it Stockport are down unless the Dobs and Pato can do something spectacular!!

I think thats the point...to toughen him up.

Playing ..pardon me ..youth football isn't the same as L2 ....or even Conference.

It's what football is about in the lower leagues. shi**y ground, read ditto for dressing rooms and pitch quality.

That's where you learn. Playing at SMS (which he hasn't done much yet) is almost the same as Premier League (except for the opposition) and it's a lucky few who come on at the right time and move into a good team who are doing well.

If he can cope with that, he'll learn a lot.

Meant to saw on 'on the **** with' AOC, he was down vodka red bulls like there was no tomorrow in portsmouth on thursday night, have photographic evidence as well if any one cares. Although didn't seem to affect his performance on saturday.

Actually I thought he was crap yesterday, so that might explain it, should it be remotely true of course.

Barnard is a very good "winner of fouls".

Lambert was getting climbed all over as usual but receiving nothing from the ref. Barney came on: first chance to receive the ball with a defender on his back and we won a free-kick (I think the one we scored the second from).

Disagree with those saying Chamberlain was crap. He was pretty good. Created the third goal and did loads of good defensive work including one potentially goal saving tackle.

How can you tell how much he is drinking from photos? He could have been holding the same drink in all of them.

Ok, I'll call this bluff. Put up the photos. I see no reason why they can't be put up on here if they exist. If not I suggest you be quiet in the future rather then **** stirring. If they do exist I'll happily apologise, but we've had plenty of false damaging rumours in the past. :)

Because he's a professional footballer in the 21st Century not the 1980s, possibly - and if he can't keep away from drink there are hundreds of other talented kids that will take his position in a flash.

Not that there's any evidence, but if you think the club should put up with any player drinking alcohol 2 days before a match you're wrong. Then again, that's probably the reason some of them are in League One...

Many of the Saints team are out on a Tuesday & Friday night in Southampton getting hammered. Seen Lambert smashed many times...even Premiership players go out drinking on Saturday nights. Doesn't matter as long as they win games.
