Ammar Jemal

TBF if you have a look at his photo albums, he's got his holiday pics on there etc. It is him.

It was an internship with YB. Could have been taken from their official website or his twitter. Most of the pictures on his facebook are from other websites. Would a professional footballer really search for all those pictures and upload them?

Yeah he just liked what i had put on his facebook page. Don't know what to think of it as maybe the picture he posted after indicates he is still thinking about it. Maybe he is leaning towards Saints, hopefully!

Lets see what he says to mine.

Your french is a little more expansive then mine mind!!!

This QPR proposition has probably thrown everything up in the air. Will be interesting to see if Adkins maybe gets both...? and lets Seaborne leave and Martin go on loan.

then we have these options of Jemal/Jaidi Fonte/Gorrks - immense if it happens.

Jemal would appear to have more long term potential than Gorkss, quite a bit younger, but Gorkss knows English football and has been there and done it. Could be in for both but surely neither of these two or Fonte are worth benching.

I've always thought Fonte would be a good midfielder, but then I guess we have Schneiderlin / Cork for the type of midfield role I could see Jose doing well in.

I think Jemal's Facebook antics prove that he has had discussions with Saints about a possible move and that he is not averse to the idea. However, those who remember the Brian Stock Facebook episode will know that just because players reveal on Facebook that a move is possible, it doesn't mean that it will definitely happen!

bar ba ba ba!

Jemal fix it for you

and you and you

bar ba ba!

Jemal fix it for you

Now then, now then. now then. I feel making it simpler will lead to better adoption hence I've chopped out the first bit. Otherwise I take my hat off to you Sir, it's close to genius.

Interesting that the areas that are being strengthened are those which us, as fans, identified.

Personally, I don't think we need another striker, especially with the end of last season and pre-season re-emergence of David Connolly.

I think it depends on who may be available to us. Connolly on form is a 1st team starter IMO but fitness has let him down so much he may need to be treated with kid gloves to get him through the season.

He is our only striker with Championship experience too so an addition in the same form might be worth going for.

Dont think we should be out trying hard to find a striker just yet though but wouldnt be surprised if we take advantage of a situation should it pop up.

I would have signed both if wages allow and given Jaidi a coaching role which I think he'd be excellent in. The main games Jaidi would feature in next year are those with a Darius Henderson type lump playing against us but from the sounds of Gorkss specialises in neutralising any threat from that type of opponent. I'd have Martin as rotation as our CBs are bound to get knocks and bans over a 46 game campaign, maybe recoup some of Seaborne's wages with a League One loan.

If we can could a loan striker in from one of the PL big boys and we got Jemal and Gorkss - unlikely I admit - I really think we'd be genuine top 6 contenders. Couldn't see us leaking many that's for sure. We could probably afford it if AOC is off I guess?

What makes you think Saints couldn't if Chamberlain stayed?

I was thinking wage bill rather than in general. Fonte is on good wages so everyone seems to think - he wouldn't have left Palace for less I would say - and Gorkss won't be on less than £10-15k you'd imagine. Seaborne and Martin are on less I should think but if both arrive I can't imagine we'd keep both AND Jaidi. Butterfield, Harding and Richardson also have a lot of NPC experience and must be on competitive deals that increased with going up, don't know about Dickson's wages but I do rate him as a player. Cork signed on wages that must have been up there with Rickie and Fonte and Lallana plus Barnie probably got a rise. De Ridder also joined from the Dutch top flight. We have and are signing players of a good quality.

If, and this is a big if Gorkss arrives we'll have shot of Puncheon who I imagine is one of our best paid players, (the flops always are at this club :D )

I agree and with De Ridder coming in I think Guly will play much more as a striker this season.

I think that if we get the chance to sign a striker who is proven in the Prem or Championship in the last season or two, or has played elsewhere but has significant potential, that we should do so, whether our current lot are probably up to the task or not. There are no guarantees, but players find their level over time.

Yes. What do you know???

Actually today the wife told me her work colleague's mate had been told by someone working in the club shop he couldn't have 10 put on his Guly shirt this morning (must have been the Megastore as they don't print at West Quay), and he'd have to come back on Monday when his new number was known. Adding to the conspiracy was that Guly and Chaplow were both off the numbered player list on the OS, but that happened yesterday and seems to be just an admin thing - though I'm sure the Chaplow article on the OS used the term "the new number 18" at 6:30am today and doesn't seem to now...

She also pointed out that Nicky Maynard was number 10 at Bristol City. And then told me that her work colleague wasn't even convinced that his mate was a reliable source. Which is why it hasn't had its own thread. But I think it's probably b011ocks and I don't want to get a reputation for this kind of thing.

But you did ask.
