Calum Chambers, Dejan Lovren and Luke Shaw have all made it onto the list of this season's 20 worst signings, relative to price. Hehe.

The link at the endfor the best 20 signings include Fraser, Pelle, Tadic, Mane

He wasn't "bad", he looked pretty decent in his 10 minute sub appearance. It was the off-pitch stuff that got him the boot.

Indeed. He looked a million times better than Pelle did in the pre season Leverkusen friendly. Seems like a long time ago. God I was worried after that match!

Gaston we signed three years ago, so not eligible. The Algerian guy I don't suppose was much of an outlay, and soon shipped back so low profile. Of course if Osvaldo had come in last year!!!!

I do know we signed Gaston three years ago, FFS. I was obviously taking about his (loan) move to Hull.

Had to laugh at the comment on Tadic - 'set pieces are his strength'. Did they see his corners and free kicks this season? I came to the conclusion that the bloke had a serious problem actually kicking a dead ball.

I'm not sure we have anyone who is that good at set pieces JWP is sited as a set piece specialist but hasn't actually scored a free kick yet.

Toby is very good, not that we actually have him.

He did take a couple of decent ones didn't score them though. would be nice to have a player who could put a few free kicks in the back of the net. Puncheon scored a cracker for Palace at Liverpool last week don't ever remember him doing that for us.

I think Lambert was taking all the scorable free kicks.

I gave up looking when I got to like 1987 but Liverpool haven't conceded 5 goals in a league game at least since 1986. So well done Rodgers, you've shipped the most goals in a game than any Liverpool manager in the PL era, and god knows how far back it goes until you find a team that shifted that many in the first half

Remember though, he is a fooballing genius. Probably part of a master plan.

Also, are West Ham being incredibly ambitious and forward-thinking, or utterly, utterly stupid?

They came out and have obviously said Sam has gone, but they then said the next manager will have ''sizable transfer funds to spend''.

2 problems with that.

1) - You've just told the entire world and their agents that you have money to spend. Congratulations

2) - You've just pretty much said to most of your squad that you will be replaced/are not good enough. Good motivation

3) - You don't have a manager, so who is going to get in early to sign all these players you want?. Good timing.

They've tried to get Klopp, Bentiez but look likley to end up with someone who has never managed in England - Bilic. Some people may see what the owners are doing as ambitious, but I see it as utter stupidity. They're simply gambling with the PL position of that club. Let's flip a coin and see what happens...

Possibly very stupid. They just needed to guarantee Premier League football for one more season, and for all his faults Sam would do that.

Hey, it might work and I'd say Brady and co have looked a similar sized club who have chopped and changed their managers with phenomenal success. Now who might that be....?

Yes, fair point, but how they've done it just feels a bit weird. Like they have serious delusions. The comments about money to spend are dim though, no doubt about that. They'll probably go out there and spend lots of money on ''names'' in the summer and Alpine and co will get all upset because we're not signing their targets, but come the end they'll have struggled. I think with ourselves, we had a sustainable plan and we were in a little bit of the **** at the time.

Oh aye. With statements like that I'd say they are more likely to be the next QPR than the next Saints.

“However, we have made the decision not to renew his contract, so we now have the chance to appoint a new manager with a new philosophy to lead us into two of the most exciting years in our great Club’s history.

“Our target is to recruit a manager that will build a team capable of saying a fitting farewell to the Boleyn Ground next year and do justice to the outstanding surrounds we will call home from August 2016.

“We have already been impressed with the quality of candidates that have expressed an interest in the role and fully expect to appoint a manager with the credentials to take this Club on to new heights.

“From our point of view there isn’t a more exciting job in the Premier League at present.”

As I said, delusions. Oh dear.

Allardyce won't be out of work for long.

Love or loathe him or his style, any club appointing Allardyce knows he will guarantee their Premier League status.

West Ham have acted pretty crassly, but what more do you expect from a club which has displayed an incredible smugness in mugging off the taxpayer in getting the Olympic Stadium for a relative song?

They are more likely to land Jurgen Klopp's lesser-known brother Klippity than the man himself, but there are some pretty decent managers out there looking for a job, and the law of averages says they are likely to recruit somebody half decent.

A propos of the footballing genius Rodgers, I see bookies are already chopping their odds for Klopp to succeed Brenda.

It's clear he has lost dressing room and the players, who look as though they gave their support to Sterling with today's effort. That was a real two-fingered salute to a manager who they have lost faith in.

Having made a complete hash of last summer's rebuilding (thanks for the dosh, Brenda!) are the owners prepared to trust him with the money this summer?

For all their bluff and bluster, Sterling will not fetch as much in the market as Suarez, so he might have less money to do an arguably bigger rebuilding job with the need to replace Stevie G.

Gerrard, meanwhile,, will go off to The States, and just sit and wait patiently for the call to return from across the sea like Bonnie Prince Charlie (and if you don't know what happened to him, look up your history books), having played a blinder this season in just tugging the rug enough at the optimum times to unsettle the dressing room, at the same time reminding everybody how much weight he carries at the club.

That smug look could be wiped off Rodgers face and their meltdown could make our supposed one look like a tub of ice cream you haven't got back from the supermarket quickly enough.

It was 1976, Aston Villa 5 Liverpool 1 and that was the halftime score. I don't know whether it makes me weird and old but I can remember the game. I found a link for it.

Oh it's just the gift that keeps on giving. Those Rogers comments are not just biting him on the arse, they are biting him all over - twice. So funny.

Karma, karma. Couldn't have happened to a nicer club after their summer tapping up crap.

The media just don't say a bad word do they?

He had a **** start to the season, not really acknowledged by the media. However....when he went on that run around December > Feb he was some sort of genius, the best manager in England. Tactical masterclass. Then it all went wrong, but then the media go silent again.

You start to wonder if he pays the media to STFU.
