How did Mane play? I missed all but the last 10 minutes of the match. Thought Morgan was solid at the end there when we needed him most.

 

He was threatening and he worked his ass off. It didn't quite come off for him tonight but you can see that it will. He's gonna be awesome.

Excellent result and performance.

 

Mané looks to have the potential to be a real threat when he adjusts to the English game

Gardos was outstanding, our options at CB are much better this season if we have a CB of that ability as 3rd choice.

Targett was also outstanding.

 

But for some better finishing we could have won that 3 or 4-1.

I cannot remember the last cup game when with 5 minutes to go and a team like arsenal chucking everything at us, and thinking "they aren't going to score." I really can't. Terrific effort from the team, well chuffed tonight. :)

So we're about all our big money departures in the league and we could be the only one left in the cup soon too (United out, Arsenal out, Liverpool into ET, Spurs playing tomorrow).

 

But we're still light years away from being good according to Holloway.

Koeman for the banner? Great result, I really wanted us to take the cups seriously last year and Poch or the club did not. I the prem league now a days to get top 6 is tough and needs money money money so the best clubs like us and most of the league can hope for is a decent cup run or maybe wembly! Koeman played a strong team but still with youth and new players added to the mix and still gets a great result!

Hell yeah loved that. Brilliant performance. The solidity of our midfield is a match for anyone in this league. Now get some rest before mullering QPR.

What an appalling start to the season we've had. If only we could have kept Cortese, Poch, Dejan, Adam etc etc. I don't know where we go from here. Such a depressing time to be a Saints fan. Firesale and meltdown, Kat skimming off the lolly and some Canadian ruining the club with the aid of Les Reed. Yoyo strategy and ignoring the cup competitions it is then.

Gardos looked very good and composed,Mane made a good impression and Tadic as always was just superb.

 

Its like we are in dreamland at the minute after the summer we had,literally beaming from ear to ear

 

Can't wait for us to stick it to twitch at the weekend

Wow doesn't come close to summing that up. The papers will no doubt highlight their weakened defence but with their injury list it isn't that far from the first team. Saints looked up for it and tactics were spot on by RK. Mane; looks like one hell of a player! Gardos also hugely impressive. The whole team looked happy to be out there and they really are a joy to watch.

 

Bournemouth at home in the next round please would be great to see!

Brilliant. F%cking brilliant.

 

We have real strength in depth at the back now - Forster is a brick sh!t house, Targett was great, Gardos was cooler than a cool mush from cooltown, and Nat Clyne is so much better than Johnson, Stones, Chambers and whoever else Woy's got his paws on that it's not even funny.

 

Tadic brilliant, Mane looks really tasy, Pelle didn't have his best game but causes bother and is always having a go, Morgan + big Vic taking the Ar$e midfield...

 

Ladies, gentlemen, and forum trolls - we have ourselves a team!

Who'd have thought it, a Premier League team playing a near full team actually progressing in the League Cup! If Koeman's priority is the cups, he's sure going the right way about it!

 

Lovely win despite the missed chances, and a lovely goal from Clyne. Hodgson you blind bastard, wtf does Nathaniel have to do to get some recognition?

 

Through to to the last 16. 4 matches to win guys, 4 matches to win....

Dare I say Clyne's goal was a little Koeman-like! How is he getting all our players to have such a goal threat? Well, nearly all...

 

Chuffed with this team and the way the club is going. How could we ever have doubted them?

Man Utd, Arsenal and Everton out, Liverpool making a meal of it, Poch apparently not interested in cups.

 

If we can avoid City and Chelsea we might have a chance at this.

 

Sounds weird, but I'd rather play those two in the earlier rounds while they're playing their reserves/youth. If they get to the semis there's a chance they'll start putting their first teams out just to win a bit of silver wear they have little interest in.

chuffed as hell but we've all seen the wheels come off at saints at anytime so lets not count our eggs just yet, only a few games in! but the signs look good

Holy crap we are good.....it just gets better.

Dreamland.....and I don't want to wake up.

We are surpassing last season....incredible after the transfer window.......we are stronger!

Mane really caused them problems, quick, good feet, looks dangerous. Really excited by him.

 

Gardos, looks classy, looks awesome. Was so happy with Alderweireld but looking at this guy he looks just a assured. Great options at the back now.

 

Targett, looks good. Quick, good positioning, eager, strong in the tackle, good prospect.

 

Other than that the team had a swagger to it, kept the ball when required, tried to hit on the break and once they lost possession worked hard to get behind the ball. Koemans really got them working well together. Ok, it was a weak arsenal team but they were pumped up, and we shrugged them off.

 

Ill see you at Wembley
