Southampton Football Club - What do "We" do well?

Not a trick question, I can think of plenty of things we do, or have done, really poorly, too many to list. But can anyone think of anything that we do well, possibly things that other clubs may try to emulate. As an example, at one time we had an academy which was hailed by all in the game.

We are world class at virtue signalling. If there is cause we need to jump on we're leaders at it.

Wishing everyone happy Eid, Diwali, Ramadan, Yom Kippur, LGBT awareness day, flying trannie flags, sustainability, recycling and so on, if there was a champions league for this sort of stuff we'd be finalist every year.

From a player's point of view, we pay high wages to players who aren't very good, like Alex McCarthy,  and look after them for years so that they can retire happily with millions in the bank. The downside is that if a player is any good, we sell him as soon as possible. So, the lesson is that if you're a cr@p footballer, Southampton is the club for you.

Talk a good game.
Celebrate failure in the guise of stats.

Celebrate the amount of possession as if it’s a result.

Celebrate nearly winning.

Not letting the worst ever performance record in saints history shake our overwhelming belief that we are doing things right.

Give people jobs they can’t do.

Ummm...not sure, it's a hard one!

When we last went down we at least had a Radio Station and Catering to be proud of, now we have pink seats, a nonsense squad and an infected pitch.

Other than that we're sound.

The Leeds Utd Supporters Advisory Board issued this statement tonight. Doubt it will do much but at least officially registers their discontent. Their season - and Board - is nowhere near as bad as ours. Maybe we need something like it?

Leeds supporters issue 'no confidence' statement
FT: Bournemouth 4-1 Leeds United
The Leeds United Supporters Advisory Board have just released the following statement after their 4-1 defeat to Bournemouth:

"After the result and performance of the team today, the Leeds United Supporters Advisory Board (SAB) would like to place on record its lack of faith in the current management team at the club.

"The SAB have been supportive of many decisions this year and will always work with the club to improve the way the club connects with its supporters and communities, so it is only right that we also address the current performances and the situation we are now faced with.

"Leeds United fans have, and will always, support our club through its ‘ups and downs’, but with four games left this situation is no longer sustainable.

"The narrow escape from relegation last season should have been the catalyst for a season of growth but this season has now turned into a humiliating disaster.

"The appointment of Jesse Marsch, a style of play so different from that of Marcelo Bielsa, the sacking of Marcsh after the transfer window had closed, the hiring of a of a fifth-choice manager, the purchase of a £35m striker who has played hardly any minutes in a relegation dogfight, the costly and embarrassing mistakes made in the Jean Kevin Augustin case… there have been far too many questionable decisions and people must be made accountable.

"The players must also take responsibility for their abject performances and lack of professional pride since half time against Crystal Palace. To pull on that famous white shirt is something that us fans can only dream of, yet it seems that some of the squad don’t have the fight for this battle.

"We are therefore asking for immediate changes to be made to the first team coach and to those responsible for the recruitment of the managers and players who have been brought in over the last 14 months.

"We would like to place on record our thanks and gratitude to the many staff, at both Thorp Arch and Elland Road, who worked tirelessly to make Leeds United a club that all of those who support it can be proud of.

"The Supporters Advisory Board are due to meet with the club this coming week and hope that they are able to respond to this statement before the meeting takes place."

Dare we ask when we will see a similar open letter from The saints voice?

The one thing Saints have excelled in throughout the over 50 years I have been a supporter is in losing games that it should be near impossible to lose, like Forest at home and Grimsby in the cup this season. Even in the season we were runners-up the reason we were not champions is that we lost at home to Notts County, who finished 21st and lost at Luton, Leicester and Norwich - all terrible teams.

On a similar note, if a player is enduring a 300 year long goal drought it’s a certainty he’ll break it against us.

Catering in the 1885 lounge is fantastic 😀

Allowing away fans into the home end of the stadium.

Laser light shows.

Ground breaking half time entertainment such as kicking a ball from a cone at the goal, or trying to hit the cross bar.

An excellent security team who keep us safe by banning bottle tops from entering the stadium.

The OWTS funeral march pre match

Trusts - we are excellent at this. Just look at the Saints and Ted Bates Trusts. Prime examples of what fan led trusts can achieve if everyone pulls together in the same direction.

Fans who ask ground breaking questions when sat Infront of the club CEO such as "when will JWP get a testimonial"

And of course the Saints Voice.

I could go on. But you must be mad if you think this club doesn't do anything well after reading that list!

The Ted Bates Trust 😂 I forgot about that bunch of clowns. Getting together to help deliver one of the absolute worst statues in human history. Trust indeed!

We excelled in softening the blow of relegation by planning our slow demise over a period months, or even years, in advance. None of those dastardly last day shocks. Well done sirs, hats of to you all!
