Has there actually been a worse, regular Saints goalkeeper? Not talking about third stringers and charity backups

No. I can’t think of one with a dozen appearances or more. Chris Woods was still better at 37 with a broken leg.

Dexter Blackstock was better than this.

I reflexively defend keepers as I feel they are too easily made the scapegoat. But my oh my... I cant be bothered to try. 2 of those goals today fell squarely on his shoulders.

Yep it was poor all round from the defence but agree. Think Bazunu was at fault for two goals.

He needs to go. Doesn't command the box at all.

He was unlucky with that one, his hand was in the right place but it just dipped slightly and went under it, everything else was perfect. The 4th goal was unlucky too, if he’d have pushed it out anywhere else it’s safe, how was he to know it’d go straight to their striker?

The rather scary thing is that you can find another 10-20 goals of that exact standard that he lets in.

Even neutrals without any bias can see he’s an absolutely horrific goalkeeper. Yet apparently the poor fans who have to put up with him handing goals to teams on a plate , are accused of having an agenda by a select few on here who for some reason are happy to have a keeper in goal who doesn’t save anything . Weird

You also haven’t factored in to this , that the striker cheated there by kicking the ball faster than Baz was able to move his hand, very much against the spirit of the game, and not an even playing field.

hopefully this is brought up by the club and looked into by the EFL as it’s happened several times now this season to Baz.

This. That was just standard Bazunu goalkeeping.

And the fact he doesn’t creates chaos with the defence - can’t trust him.

I can’t believe for one second the striker tried to shoot in the middle of the goal, it was a poor finish, Baz would have anticipated it going into the corner not straight down the middle if the strike was better he’d have saved it. Unlucky again

Is there anyone that still wants to try and defend him? Fucking absolute waste of space, I stand by what I said the first season he was here - a better keeper in goal and I think we'd have stayed up.

LOL

Literally the worst keeper I’ve ever seen play for us.

Arguably the worst to ever play in the championship

Fucking horrific

He’s statistically the worst goalkeeper on record in both the PL and Championship.

Probably the worst to have played the number games that he has at this level, he must have now played 50 games plus.
Let’s also remember that he was brought in to play in the league above this, too 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

It's just another indicator of the complacency that runs this club now, it's OK to have a keeper with these weaknesses as he may get better, it's OK to have a 32 year old guy in charge with zero experience as he may be a gem in the future and the players love him!!

Can George Long be anyone worse? Up Until two years ago he was playing regularly in the championship. I can’t believe he will be worse than Baz.

He’s almost played 100 times for us 😂 wonder if the club are brave/stupid enough to commemorate that on the socials in a few games time?

Kevin Miller played a few times for us in 2004 or so at about 38 years old and 5 stone overweight. I remember him being bad but I don’t think he was as bad a Baz.

Funny you should say this, but sources tell me there is indeed something planned, To coincide with his 100 appearances coming during the winter and cold snap, apparently he will receive a commemorative chocolate fire guard, as a show of appreciation to illustrate his worth to the club.

He actually did well in his little spell for us, despite his age and being slightly overweight. In fact even now almost 20 years on and pushing 60 I’d prefer him in goal to Baz.

I watch a lot of Wessex league games, and although I’d love to say there’s better keepers, there actually isn’t . It’s probably a bigger gap in standard than any other position . So it would be an exaggeration to say Baz is that level.

However, I’ve watch my son in law in National league games and I have absolutely seen better keepers than Baz at that level. He’s probably League two level at best.  It wouldn’t surprise me if he’s playing  in England in 5 years time it’ll be at step 1 or 2 level.

He would be the worst keeper in League Two.
So far, he hasn’t stepped into a single league without ending up statistically bottom – and that’s even when you include second- and third-choice keepers earning a tenth of his wages.

I’ve said it countless times: SR are actively destroying his value by continuing to play him.
