Maybe we’re all wrong and FM is reality and what we have to endure at St Marys is some bug-ridden shit simulation. It would explain quite a bit.

No, the simulation would learn from it's mistakes. Humans are far more ridiculous.

I liked the cheat about a year who that let any club sign any player for £1.6m if I remember rightly.

then it was removed in an update

Software can have bugs, that are then corrected. They aren't intentional. The correction is to realign it with simulating reality.

The fact Sheff United lost faith in him during the final stretch of the season is a slight concern for me.

There was some hopeful posts on his thread early on that we might get Evan Ferguson on loan, but Brighton and Roma are in talks. Getting decent players that can't get a game in the PL to drop down to the championship is almost impossible. Far more attractive options abroad.

I'm sure there's a point here somewhere.

I mean, Roma or some Championship club? No contest, sadly. Still, I'm sure we could tempt him with the West Quay shopping centre, cruise port, access to the New Forest and the Aviation museum, surely.

Perhaps pointless to suggest a load of players when we have so many on our books that we will probably have to keep or will take all summer to offload, but what's the harm? I'm going to imagine the current lot have all fucked off. All of them. Every single last one...except Ramsdale. I don't have a clue about keepers, so will let someone else address that position. Anyho, in no particular order
Omar Richards (Forrest)
Tørborjn Heggem (WBA)
Bindon (Forrest)
Issa Kabor (Man City)
Chakvetadze (Watford)
Rak-Sakyi (Palace)
Kofi Shaw (Bristol Rovers)
Andrija Maksimovic (Red Star)
Josh Murphy (Skates)
Sainz (Norwich)

Kasper Dolberg (Anderlecht)
Simon Banza (Braga)

Could maybe add Vardy and a couple of old school defenders like Ben Mee, but mostly I want to see some talented dribblers like Chakvetadze.

I see my suggestion of Andrija Maksimovic has joined RB Leipzig. I knew he was good, but we have no chance of competing with that kind of club, especially in the championship. Sainz obviously got a move to Porto, and Bindon joined Sheff United on loan. Pretty sure we wont be signing any of the others, so I'll need to come up with a new list.

The bigger the gap between PL and Championship, the harder it is to get players to drop down. I guess larger PL squads put paid to that many years ago. Same for everyone I guess. Hence all we can do is take punts on 22 year olds with potential.

I know there are many weeks to go, but I was hoping there might be a little more turnover of players and we could reshape the squad a bit more, especially adding some attacking talent and dribblers like Chakvetadze at Watford. Edozie may have to be that man. Hmm.

Was Kevin Phillips a free transfer? Was he joining West Ham who Saints fans have a history laughing it as signing typical Wet Spam (LMFAO) players?

I will guarentee if Wet Spam (LMFAO) had been signing a free transfer from a club that had performed like we had the last 4-5 years our lot would be taking the piss out of them for it.

Haha the Turkish guarantee.

With it looking like West Ham are signing KWP and rumours they are interested in THB and Ramsdale as well it will be interesting to see if they do whether they are woeful defensively this season like we were last season - and whether it was down to the players we had or was it really just down to Mr Martin's terrible management and coaching.

My guess would be neither KWP or THB are good enough defensively for the Premier League - but Martin's tactics and coaching made the worst of it.

It could be a good test of Mr Potter's coaching ability.

Not that many weeks Chez……3 until the start of the season. I’m with you though, it all appears quite sluggish.

Probably got more to do with shipping players out. They cannot afford to have such a bloated squad.

Just have to wait until the dominoes start falling in the Premier League. I'm anticipating a fair bit of action at the end of the transfer window.

Gives us a few games of higher calibre players I guess.

Yes i did and am now a two time champions league winning coach for a boys U12s team. Not sure what any of that has to be with Kyle Walker Peters but you lot can make it about me if you want too. 😃

I can imagine it’s now all about trimming the squad and trying to keep as many of the players that would be useful if promotion is achieved. Money banked ready.

Absolutely. However, I thought Bednarek move would have been done considering he was reported to have a relegation release clause of just £6m. I thought also that Forest or whoever would be bidding for Fernandes by now. Maybe they already have and we said we want a lot more. I thought Ramsdale would have got a move by now also. All out of our hands, I realise that.

I was thinking more end of transfer window, as obviously a lot is done in the last week. I suspect it is very busy behind the scenes, but we just won't be accepting low bids again, so things will never move fast.

it certainly needs trimming, but if enough depart, like all the main three or four we really rate and a few others like BBD, Taylor and Armstrong, then we can add to it. This attacking midfielder that could be signed with or without sales seems to be elusive too.

It was a bit sluggish last time out if I remember. JWP and Tella both played a game or two in the championship before they left. I'm sure this time round most of the players we expect to leave will do before too long.

It does make me wonder whether something has happened on the midfielder.  Quarshie was pretty much day one, Downs was fairly obvious and linked early on but there hasn't been much in the way of links for the midfielder.

Last time the slowness is what got people's hopes up that we were keeping players which obviously didn't happen. I hope this time we lose them all a bit earlier rather than all at once near the end of the window.

Aribo

Bednarek

Maybe Edozie

BBD

Taylor

Are the ones I wouldn't be sad about losing and I hope we get done.

Could it have been Gassama, choosing Rangers over us? Do they compete with us on wages?

Agreed but I'd rather he went than some others. I'd have preferred to keep SAA to be honest but I heard he was being a complete wanker so I get it.

I always thought Aribo would look for a move once his contract was up, rather than this summer. Free transfers are more attractive to suitors and ensure the wage remains high this season and then in future seasons.

If we've genuinely had a chance to sign eduard spertsyan and missed out on it then its a real bugger. He's one of the best players we've been seriously linked with since the days of picking up the younger/lesser known VVD and Mane imo.

I would like to give Edozie a go - low risk. I also think Aribo was not used to his strengths last season and has a shot on him  - he’s much more aligned to a no.10 than a CB FFS!

I’d add to that list Bazunu, McCarthy, Manning and Wood, but I doubt any of those will go any when soon.

Can Rangers afford £10m either?

Sounds out of their budget to me.
He has ability, not too dissimilar to Edozie, but Palace are pretty astute and will know if they have a player that can make in the PL. It feels like they don't see that. That's a massive red flag for me. A loan would be fine fine, but I don't think we should be buying him for £10m.

Aribo played best for us as one of three central midfielders in the championship. He didn't do nearly enough in an attacking midfield role, all be it he didn't get too many opportunities in the championship.

Rubén Sánchez is an important player for Espanyol's squad, and the club would not want to part with him in this transfer window, but it also depends on the offers that may come in.

The parties would not consider a new loan.

Several clubs are inquiring about Rubén: Rayo, Oviedo, Sassuolo, and Southampton are some of those keeping tabs on him.

I got a feeling that Ramsdale will still be at the club when the window shuts. The noise around him is similar to that of Trafford last season, early links and then it slowly goes quiet before nothing actually happens..

Yeah, lots of calls to ask if they can get him for £10m which obviously leads to nothing. Villa are going to be the team to look at. If Martinez goes to United, they will need a big personality to fill his shoes and Ramsdale fits the bill IMO.

Isn't the Gibbs-White move off or at least in contention so that could well be slowing it down? Also, I would bet if they want Fernandes, they'll want to pay something like £25m+bonuses, like they paid for Gibbs-White, but the problem is we probably want Lavia money - which I think is correct as he's an established PL player unlike Gibbs-White when they got him.

One of the programmers I used to work with left a deliberate bug in one program so that he would be paid overtime to fix it when it failed after going "live".
