So you haven't seen GB's stats for the 23-24 season?

I didn't say the goals were not his fault, I said they were not "solely his fault". Key difference!

Sorry, what are you arguing about?

Likewise.
You are probably a good man to ask for the best (valuable)/biggest named players to stay with a relegated club?  Sander Berge, KWP in recent times. Going back there was Barton/Kevin Nolan/Alan Smith at Newcastle, and further back Michael Carrick/Defoe (for half a season). Not too many player 'easily good enough for the Prem' seem to stick around.

Steve Bull?

Evan Ferguson please, loan with obligation if promoted 😃

He was loaned to a Premier League team in West Ham last year, what makes you think Brighton would 1) loan him to a weaker league 2) just give him away if we got promoted? He's a pretty hot prospect still at age 20.

Because goal scoring becomes a habit and banging in 25 next season in the Championship may be better for him than getting 4 or 5 at a lower Prem team.

Just read that we rejected a £19million bid for THB from Porto, guessing the only reason we're turning that down is because City will get a large percentage of it?

Also the fact that we want to keep him and have him be our captain in the Prem for the next decade.

Or we don't want to sell him.

TBF his trial is unlikely to be before next August so we could get a season out of him!

One year deal, option to extend if not a rapist.

Win/win.

Or that is less than we paid for him a year ago and he's on a decent contract.

I know he is still young, but I  thought THB was a disappointment in the Premiership last year and was a significant part of one of the worst defences ever to "grace" the Premiership.

Porto never bid for THB. The rumour was quashed.

Fucks sake, we've only just signed Quashed.

"There doesn't need to be a massive overhaul, but there will be addition of quality where it's needed"

I wonder if Quashie and Downs are the quality where it is needed or that might be some loans closer to deadline day?

That could also mean they are hopeful of keeping our best players?

Got to be a hint towards that.

sure, a couple are going to go, but no need to sell all of ramsdale, Dibbling, Fernandes, THB, Downes

Fernandes is the one. If we can somehow keep him, that would be impressive

sure, could be. My point, or question was more along the lines of how Still sees the two players we have/are signing - are they the missing quality and thus better than what we have or is that quality coming later in the form of PL loans. I didn't see Quarshie as a starter, but maybe I have underestimated how good he is?

No idea how you come to that conclusion on the back of that statement, but sure. Bednarek, THB, Stephens, ABK all ahead of Quarshie at moment although can see 2 of those going. We also have Bree, Taylor and Shea have all played centre back for us. Think he is more longer term.
