Has he gone yet? Or is he, as I predicted yesterday evening, going to be given the next 2 games , only going to be sacked when the club is humiliated even further by losing at home to a rejuvenated Sheffield Wednesday? Because you can bet your house we are losing that one under the current management team. Yeah let’s wait until it’s even worse before getting rid, just in case of that minuscule delusional chance that he turns it round (which is never happening). This club have such low standards that they probably don’t see 21st in the league as critical yet, as we aren’t in the drop zone. Nah let’s wait for us to blow a couple more games including losing at home to an already relegated side before we act, when we are 23rd and only above a side who’ve had a large points deduction. Fucking laughable but wholly predictable

Only thing that it seems like has hasn't lost is the board's confidence yet.

Getting rid means confessing that are absolutely useless at managerial appointments and a complete laughing stock.... But then we all knew that already! I just can't see any way for them to save face now they will come out with some crappy statement of underperforming though and blame the whole mess on still even though it's 90% their own doing!

Yes. They are. Absolutely mental, but did you expect anything less from the twats who decided to wait until we were completely adrift last season with 5 points at Christmas time, before firing RM, when any semblance of realistic hope was completely gone and everyone had written the season off?

This club is beyond fucked up. We lose at QPR on Wednesday, what sort of atmosphere do the board think the players wil be playing under? Still has not done himself any favours, but the owners surely cannot let this drag on, once the crowd turn you don't ever get that back. Factor in we have also turned on the players as well, St Marys could get even worse than it was yesterday.

To be fair it's a dressing room well worth losing. Weak as piss with zero fight or pride in what they are doing.

Precisely. I bet he hasn’t got the balls to square up to any of his team mates and demand higher standards, yet he’s quite happy to gesture swear and spit towards fans whilst walking away to the safety of the dressing room. Sums this lot up, cowards.

OK, Will gets the sack, what then? A new manager takes over, he inherits a squad of very average players, not a single one of Premier League quality. Not one! Let’s assume we somehow got promoted, the season would be worse than last season. The answer? Not a clue.
We are stuck where we are for a while.

I don’t think anyone is expecting miracles from a new  manager.  An organised team that we can get behind would be a start.

I’m convinced apart from up front (which I’m sure will be addressed in Jan) and possibly GK we have a squad that many managers would love to work with. It just needs that one manager with the charisma, personality and confidence to get them going. It’s not a bad job and surely anyone confident in their ability would believe they can get a tune out of the players and get into top 6 - there are enough points to play for.

You could say the same thing about Sunderland. 

They recruited well in the summer and overhauled the squad. Not that I have any faith in SR to replicate it of course

Looks a bit click-bait-y at this stage.

L'Equipe has too many pay walls to get through to work out whether it is a real story. L'Equipe twitter feed does not mention it.

Naive statement, we came down with expensive players, spent a lot and we are terrible, look at clubs with no budget embarrassing us… a good manager would piss the league with this squad.

Didn’t help himself with how he set-up the team but this group of players are so, so poor and have also let him down massively.

Had to happen after yesterday but can’t say I’m overly thrilled about the likely prospect of somebody like Carrick. Would’ve been happy with Rohl.

Good news indeed, but let’s not this detract us from the real instigators of our decline. If they think we will just quieten down now they’ve hopefully got another thing coming. They need to go too
