Went up through the play-offs with a team that on paper looked weaker than our play-off winning team. Then they sold Jobe Bellingham. But, after that they made numerous signings around the £20m mark. They even signed one player for £30m, smashing our transfer record. Got a decent goalkeeper from Holland as well for £11.5m, so they do exist, you just need a good scouting team. Granit Xhaka was a smart buy for their Premier League experienced signing too. They also made eight of their signings before August. Giving their new signings a pre-season. While, when we went up we were signing Adam Lallana, Charlie Taylor and Ryan Fraser on frees, Nathan Wood and Ronnie Edwards for small fees and Sugawara and Brereton-Diaz weren't that much either, while Cameron Archer was hardly an ambitious signing. We were haggling over fees for Liam Delap, Matt O'Riley and Fabio Carvalho, while Sunderland were a lot more aggressive in the market. Identified a talent and signed him. They did have a bigger margin to spend which helps. They started their rebuild a couple of seasons back and had a good core of young talent with some older wise heads, didn’t spend much until this season. It seems easier to reset in league one, to help leap up to the premier league! 🤔 They do have a bigger squad now, so depending on where they are at end of the season will have to sell before buying. 1
Sunglasses Ron Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago I see Blackburn have said the following today about their abandoned game against Ipswich… "We've got the right to want the three points because it's the fair thing to do, especially when the opponent is down to 10," Sadly, being down to 10 men isn’t an excuse we could reasonably use. I’m trying to remember the last time we actually won when our opponents had a player dismissed?

Over half an hour maybe, but ten mins against ten men. Their manager would have to be a PE teacher to fuck that up.

The cut off for a 'replay of the remaining' is around 75 mins - I reckon they'll both be forced to replay the 90, but it'll happen next year because they'll spend the next few months arguing. It's basically the equivalent of quitting Football Manager when you don't like a game, and reloading the save previous.
