Almost official so time to start his thread. Fits our profile, tall and with an excellent scoring record at besiktas and the mls. Experienced and will be good competition for Stewart. Well done saints for your canny loan and welcome to the club.

I too am overjoyed at this signing, possibly the most ecstatic I've been over a January striker signing since Carillo.

Yes, can't wait to see the Canadian Carillo firing them in against Watford on Saturday.

I don’t want to slag him off before he’s played a minute as there’s always a chance he’ll be average.

Has there ever been such a less exciting signing however?

In my book, nothing compares with the Pulis signing for non excitement and complete and utter waste of time. If we had suffered three more relegations he'd still have been out of his depth.

Forecast? He has to be up there. Spent the majority of his time at the club hanging round pitcher and piano chatting up birds.

This. Damien Downs had a decent show reel, but look how that turned out.

Looks like the club want to gamble on goals in getting us to playoffs/promotion. If we don't achieve that, then letting Arma and Archer go this window may look foolish.

I see the reports say "loan deal agreed", but is it still dependant on AA or archer departing or is he coming no matter what?

He's here for 17 guaranteed games. 20 if we get to the play-off final, 24 if we get to the FA Cup Final. 🤪 It's a loan and he's taller cover for AA. We still have Stewart as long as he stays fit, and it looks like we will keep Archer. Larin wants to get to the Canadian squad for the WC so however bad his form has been, we can at least hope he gives his all. I'll give him a few games before judging him!

He's also got experience and has shown in the past he can score goals at a reasonable level. It's for 6 months, I'd rather we spent our money in the summer having properly scouted someone (over to you SR, better than Downs please, we know you CAN spot gems) than panicked and did it now. Our January signings have rarely ever been much to write home about.

You never know, he could be the next Michu.  Nobody heard of him then look what he did.  If he's physically strong in the box that alone will help us.

So we've established he has 24 games to prove himself, let's try supporting him and hoping he will be good. He isn't scarred by our past so he may provide a breath of fresh air...

When taking a not particularly well struck penalty and a couple of average passes are on your highlights reel, it doesn't bode well...but let's give him a chance.

He's also going to have the support of the Saints wonder coaches to get him up to speed. Ah.....

Welcome Cyle. If you’ve seen any of the comments online, clearly the fans have low expectations of you (not helped by clueless recruitment “strategies” in past windows). However, if you can demonstrate commitment and show real effort, then that will be a vast improvement on almost all of the dross SR have brought in up front so far. And if you can muster up a few goals too then I’m sure that’s all we can ask.

Its the modern game, there is a team of highly experienced coaches and scouts, middleman sales executives and let's be honest here tge spreadsheet data analysts who have given us the success in championship so far. The transfers in this window will undoubtedly secure Saints 6th place and a playoff final v Hull.

Judging from his videos and the feyenoord fans, I don’t think he has this in his locker unfortunately

Any stats on if he can pass sideways, that's the important stat. Goals are not important as xG will take care of that.

Would be nice if a striker signing turns out to be a nice surprise for once, rather than be absolutely terrible as feared.

Not sure controlling and running with the ball is his game, but I might be wrong.

Relying on stats. I don't even think half the deciders and upstairs managers/coaches even watch Saints play. Its likely the Excel guru at Saints is using the Horizon postoffice system to make player decisions or air traffic control system. This season has seen the most bizarre football decisions
