He was 30 yards ahead of everyone else when the ball was played and ran full pelt, only way anyone was getting up to support him was if he took it wide and waited for a few seconds rather than ran into the box.

Didn't look like a poke in the eye to me. A small scrape to the face isn't enough to go down like a sack of potatoes. We needed him in the box when Manning was putting the cross in.
