Just include the booking fee in the ticket price. I hate things like this, I usually look elsewhere if there is P&P when buying on the internet whereas if they just wrapped the price up its far more transparent. It's the UK however and its the job of everyone to rinse everyone else for as much as possible

Hi, sorry if this has been asked already, but does anyone know whether we will be able to buy tickets for friends and family who are registered under our Southampton FC account (and who also have a season ticket), i.e. so that we can be sat together.

I’ve got 3 friends in my account and I’m also hoping to be able to buy 4 tickets. It’s not clear what the mechanism is though for selecting them and buying them when I am limited to a single ticket.

When you get to later in the process you have to allocate a ticket to a person.  If they are eligible at that time it shows up as bold otherwise they will be greyed out.

Don't know about the membership side but the hospitality will definitely count as a purchased game.

I was actually a bit surprised how easy it was this morning, got in just after 9:30, booked five seats all behind the goal in the slightly cheaper seats, got the booking confirmation a couple of minutes later and all done. Didn't look like many had gone when i logged in either.

I'm sure the club will find a way to bugger it up closer to the game mind.

What wax the process for buying multiple tickets given it is one per person? I have 3 friends added in my account and I’m hoping that will allow me to buy 4 in total. Wish the club would make it clearer!

So can I select 4 tickets in total to buy and then allocate 3 to friends in my account ?  It doesn’t seem clear what the process is.

Correct. I bought 7 this morning - 1 for me and 6 for eligible F&F

Without meaning to TRY to defend it as I still think it's way too high and a piss take, but there is cost of infrastructure and so on to cover - that stuff is costly and gets more expensive the more demand there is as it scales.

That's my take anyway 😂

The booking fee basically covers the booking system software, the financial transaction processing costs, plus the maintenance of those systems. Unsurprisingly the provision of those elements of the service are not free, but they are a lot more efficient and cheaper than employing people to answer the phones to take orders and then mail out paper tickets.

Wrapping the booking fee into the ticket price is the opposite of transparent.  At least when it is split out you can see how much each transaction is.  The issue that you can't avoid here is that there is only one place to buy the ticket, so it's not a free market.  Saints could charge £5 booking fee but we would all still have to buy from them.

Was pretty easy this morning, I got in at 9:30 and seemed to have half the stadium to pick from.

I did however panic, and ended up buying tickets considerably lower down than I had originally planned.

Still scarred from Oasis ticket farce a few yeas ago.

Can anybody who bought tickets today confirm the process for buying tickets for others who are linked as family and friends on my account? i.e. can I buy tickets on their behalf at the same time that I buy mine, so we are sat together.

Yes. If you have say 4 eligible friends linked on your account you select your 4 seats in the stadium map, proceed then it will ask you to assign each seat to a customer number , drop down will show each friend account you can link to in bold. If the account number is not eligible (eg have already purchased or dont qualify to buy yet) then those numbers are shaded

Anyone got a screenshot of what seats have gone / what seats are left, as things stand? Cheers 👍🏻

Too many to screenshot.  A lot of lower tier gone but half the upper tier not available to buy yet and all the blocks that are available have around 500 left in each.

I'd say we'd probably only sold 5k today.  But I could be completely wrong.

You’ll have to try your luck tomorrow, seats were being shown as sold and then reappearing later. My transaction was a complete mess, but actually managed to buy the tickets I thought I had bought but hadn’t a couple of hours later.

That’s where it all went wrong for me, we had people shaded who shouldn’t have been, but we got there in the end albeit with two separate transactions.

Not actually that many sold today, there will be loads of eligible season ticket holders with away credits holding back to buy with family and friends who are just members etc, its what we have in our group just waiting until Thursday.

They haven't even opened half of the upper tier yet, same as play off final that will only open once we've sold other blocks first.

You need to zoom into each block to see individual seats remaining but from what I can see main sales so far are lower tier towards halfway line and main 2 or 3 blocks behind goal dont have many left. Otherwise still loads in other areas. Upper tier hardly any sold so far , trying to upload a screenshot but Saintsweb not having it

Am I able to buy a ticket and when the ticket arrives on Saints ticket app, I can forward the ticket to someone else logged into the Saints ticket app who didn't qualify for a ticket

My understanding is yes. Just my opinion but I genuinely think after season ticket holders and members have had some priority to pick preferred seats just get them on general sale and get the ground as full as possible. Man City arent selling out so dont need to worry about them buying in our end. Also the 33,250 allocation is 'initial' and can be increased if we sell them.

From Saints website (specifically about this game)

"Tickets can be transferred to others though should not be sold. The selling of tickets is an offence under Section 166 of the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 1994. Both the original purchaser and anyone the ticket is transferred to are both responsible for the actions of the person in that seat on the day. Any issues will impact the original purchaser moving forward"

Funny you should say that, likely Liam and Noel will be at the game in hospitality level so you might see Oasis at Wembley this time

So I can buy a ticket for me and my wife (each of us are a member and have purchase history this season).  Then when the ticket comes through on the app, for her ticket I can forward it to my son of whom I have only just created an account yesterday.  Or I guess I can forward the ticket to me and have 2 tickets on my app

So I'm in selected tickets but it won't let me allocate for season ticket holders who have no aways, anybody else got that problem?

You need to rejoin. I had the same, closed the tab, rejoined via the 'book now' link, then it had updated eligibility. If you joined the queue before 0930, the eligibility was still as per yesterday.

For those wondering how the process is working:

  1. logged into my Southamptonfc.com website about 8 am, and navigated to the ticket section.
  2. I could see the semi-final listed, but there wasn't a BUY button.
  3. I stayed logged in, and at about 9:15, I was told I was in the Waiting Room, and my position was 376.
  4. Around 9:30, I could buy tickets. I bought three, chose my seats and was taken to a screen where I could allocate the tickets to myself and friends and family.
  5. Paid and all complete by 9:40, with an email confirmation
  6. I guess the tickets will appear in due course in the ticketing app

TIP: Don't refresh the page when in the Waiting Room, as your position will be lost and you will go to the back of the queue

The process was much smoother than I expected; the only hiccup was that I would choose 3 seats and then get told that they had already been taken. After this happened twice, I just took the suggested alternative.

Hope this helps :)

I joined after 9:30 and it happened to me. Maybe I wasn’t logged out, but I only opened browser at 9:31

I think you then need to log in immediately so they can check your eligibility. Anyway, I'm now relaxed!

Had a screen come up after waiting room which said I wasn’t eligible to view that page. No VPN….odd.

I swore for a few seconds, went to the ticket page again and it took me to seat selector page after all. Tickets sorted, just not exactly stress free!

Managed to get three tickets after a few hurdles to jump. No problems with f&f being greyed out. But nearly an hour later I still haven't received the confirmation email, anyone else not received their's?

I had issues with greyed out but worked after logging out and starting again.  Lost the seats I had though.

Confirmation email came immediately

As much as I don’t like them directing traffic to an external provider, the ticket buying experience with Eastleigh is much better on mobile than SFC.

I never get confirmation emails but if it shows in your purchase history you're all good.

On the website on my laptop.  I did, Account (top right) -> Ticket purchases -> friends and family on the right.  I did it both ways so my wife is a friend and fam on mine and vice versa

Check booking history on your account. As I said above I never get confirmation emails. Even when I purchase my season ticket I get nothing via email.
