Wonder if his father in law gave him some advice.

respect to their manager level headed interview.

presenter trying to bait him and to be fair he's not a tonda fan 🤣

That's fair enough. Same happened with Mousinho right? "We don't have to get on" or whatever he said, spot on.

GTFI. 40 yard cross is the best way to win a game like that 😆

Didn't see their goal as I only watched from about 20 mins but I think they actually got themselves too worked up about everything and you could see they would run out of steam - I just didn't think they would do so from quite early in the 2nd half. But having said that I think Tonda waited too long to swap Leo for Edozie and we could have won it in normal time otherwise.

We’ve had some big moments at St Mary’s in the last 25 years, and those celebrations when the winner went in are right up there.

Hellberg saying they didn't have a plan to keep training if they lost... Congratulated us and refused to say any ore when pressed... Under instruction not to say anything untoward or just being genuinely magnanimous...?

The latter, and let's be honest, no self respecting football manager should want to go through at the expense of the better team over almost 4 hours of football.

I saw the goal, thank goodness, and then had to leap out of my seat and jog for the last train. As I crossed the Itchen Bridge I heard Che Sera Sera, and all was well with the world!

Sky saying Tonda interview delayed due to him still being in discussion with the referee...

Edit: here he is now....

Looked like THB said twice to Ayling, 'What you say, what you say?' Pretty minor if so.

I mean if so, the obvious defence is that THB had no clue he had a stutter, why would you even know that about another player?

Tonda reaction;

  • Big advert for the league, it was an outstanding game
  • very intense from both sides
  • if you look back at our home games we have had different scenarios
  • Sometimes we have started stronger, sometimes we get out of it with a set piece
  • It does not matter how you score,
  • Both teams are good, they were outstanding over both games
  • It is not easy, the crowd were fantastic
  • It was tough for Leo today, he kept pushing through the pain. He was in pain at HT as well
  • It is not easy to speak about the investigation, the club has made a statement, I cannot comment
  • I will speak about it soon, but I cannot now
  • We do everything to prepare for the final
  • Everyone has the right to express their opinion, but I will not comment now on it
  • We have watched both Hull's games and they are a very good team.
  • They have good character and are very tight and deserving to be in the final

Stammering can be recognised as a disability. Since disability is a protected characteristic under the Equalities Act, what some see as minor could result in much more of an impact.

Firstly, I'd like to say well done to the Boro support. Long way to come.

Secondly, our support was exceptional. Whatever happens with the charge, you can't deny we'll be loud and proud at Wembley which is fast becoming our second home.

Thirdly, while the game itself was quite finely balanced, at almost no point did Boro threaten our goal. Their attack needs a lot of work. Granted we weren't fluid but we got the job done.

Fourthly, the ref was pants. But that's pretty standard.

Fifthly... I lost my train of thought.

Anyway another game unbeaten and on to Wembley!

Tonda mentions that he'll say something about the spying charges when the time is right.

Intriguing.

I mean, since literally no-one has seen this 'evidence', it is entirely possible that the club can prove this guy had no official link to the club and it actually was just massive overreaction.

Oh yeah, fifthly, tonight shows the importance of a second leg at home. That win on the last day... I would have rested some key players so kudos to Tonda for going with a strong side. It mattered to win against Preston. A lot.

There is clearly more to this than meets the eye. Hoping saints are able to bite back at Boro.

Just saw on twitter that THB said something like "keep stuttering" to Ayling.

Not very nice, but don't think he will get banned for that

I first I thought it was stupid and then I thought......fuck me, I played football for years, the shit we would say to each other. I mean, its bloody name calling ffs. Grow a pair.

Yeah, I get that but, not to excuse it or make light of it, it's a bit of banter in the heat of a football match. Ayling dishes plenty out both verbally and with his feet. THB probably wrong to do it - don't know whether he apologised (probably should have) because in the second half the camera showed them and Ayling was giving THB an 'affectionate' hug 🙂

Imagine the Boro fans headloss for the ones fully expecting us to be kicked out if it really all comes back as ‘nothing to see here’

I salute my fellow fans who have had to watch sky sports tonight, I don't know how u do it regularly 🤣

Turn it on right before the game, ignore the commentary (easy after so many games), tea at half time, turn off right after.

I stayed just long enough for the Shea and Ryan interview tonight, which is more than I'd normally risk. They got in at least 2 spygates in the seconds building up to that.

Boro had a throw in and the ball boy wouldn't give them the ball, pointing instead to another one further up the touchline. Ended up with the Saints subs handbagging with a couple of Boro players.

They had a ball ready for the throw in so he refused to hand a fresh one over. Good lad.

Yeah there was a ball available which Stephens tried to hand to Targett, but instead he wasted time by walking down the line to the ball boy to ask for his ball. The ball boy said nope 😂

Totally get your thoughts on it. I was really just trying to point out that, by the nature of what it was, it can take a very definite, and punitive route.
