BotleySaint Posted yesterday at 12:49 Posted yesterday at 12:49 I assume we've heard nothing from the FA about their investigation. Hopefully we've got someone lined up for when the inevitable happens with 1 week to go.

Nothing further happened before and it's not really got anything to do with anyone else if the league have already dished out a ridiculously harsh punishment. 1

The club has been punished but not him. I think a one year ban from managing in the PL would be fair. 2 3

Wouldn't surprise me if it went the way you suggest but : do you mean the PL , as opposed to EFL ?, do the FA have jurisdiction over the PL or EFL ? Also seems slightly bizarre that the FA might issue a ban on something that , to my knowledge, isn't specifically forbidden by the FA itself or PL.. Have wondered what the outcome might have been if ahead of an FA Cup tie where no specific ruling is in place.

So the thing you're making out is strange is precisely how the game is run here. The FA clearly have "jurisdiction" over the leagues. If Tonda gets banned by the FA then it is in principle the same as another player getting banned for violent conduct or whatever. Edited yesterday at 16:48 by CB Fry

Indeed, when you browse the FA disciplinary actions you see that they ban and fine all sorts of people for a mixed bag of things. The word that crops up as often as not is "misconduct". 1

The FA should say they have looked at the situation and, in view of the punishment already handed out by the EFL, no further action is required other than a warning about future conduct. I hope the club and its lawyers are saying the same thing.

Most likely, they won't even care if he has in some shape or form been punished. They will look at it from their angle, and they will find him guilty of som form of misconduct. The way power works is that those in power tends to like to use it. My only hope is that the punishment will be on the softer/shorter side.

sledger Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago I think the fa would just like it to all go away due to the ridiculous punishment dished out by the efl 2

andrew7610 Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago If Tonda is banned for any period of time, we should appoint Bielsa in his place. The internet would lose its shit. 2 2

OldNick Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago If he did get a ban, please no, would Rob Edwards be a good fit

trousers Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago Good to see the ongoing interest in South Coast football from the Northern Echo, especially with their insightful breaking news here... 🤦🏼

Pamplemousse Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago Hope we ban some of these journos from St Mary's. It's getting beyond parody now, they're literally obsessed. 2

Saints should blank out any references to Boro in programme, site, make coaches park miles away or even cancel game at short notice. Make sure there is no toilet paper in bog as they are full of shit.

Oldandtired Posted 16 minutes ago Posted 16 minutes ago I assume all this will have to be sorted before pre season training starts?

You'd hope and think so, but preseason is a week out now and still no indication... although the FA's disciplinary process did issue a ban to an ex-Watford player today for racism incidents last season, so it seems they're back from their holidays and are actually dealing with their in-tray now
