It is unfortunately part and parcel of match preparation on the continent / abroad, and is quite literally the work environment he developed within - i.e., its the sort of coach he is 🤷‍♂️. Its only the EFL that has this ridiculous rule - and just look at the Arsenal comments crying about the GKs having penalty taker "cheat sheets"... you start making these stupid rules and all of a sudden people want new rules and start saying things are unfair. The reality is that clubs should be allowed to use these routes if they think they can gleam a benefit out of it - its a competitive sport - Tonda is a winner who was going after any information that he can gleam from analytical work. All these rules should be stripped away imo - Otherwise where do you draw the line? Should we just ban analysts outright, not allow keepers to study past penalties or keep notes, or stop clubs monitoring real time health data? Not all clubs can afford those resources or implement it equally right? so must impact the integrity of the game...

It's not about "Why do it" it's about the timing. The 'Why' is obvious, gather as much information as possible about your opponents before you play them and work out your strategy, tactics anmd otions accordingly for the match . We'd be on his back for gross negligence if he didn't do that.

Most things in life are about timing.

It will be interesting what the % would be in the support of Eckert after the interviews from Tonda and the owner.

In fairness he riles up people with the way he says stuff but at least consistent with his views (well, I think he is) and he does make a case for most of what he says. 

I dont always agree with what he says but can see his angle.

We’ve been punished and in the “experts” eyes harshly.

Its  some of the media nobody’s that want more, why would we punish ourselves even more by getting rid of a very good young manager!!!

On a side note Jorden said with all the charges over Man City isn’t it funny how Pep isn’t branded a cheat and his legacy has not been tainted in any shape or form and nor will it be.

One thing the club will need to do with Tonda is a bit of media training on how to deal with awkward/infammatory questions. How will he respond to questions like ‘do you think you’re a cheat?’ Which will inevitably come his way.

In fairness that reporter wouldn't have had the balls to say that to a more prominent manager. I thought it was bang out of order and obviously he was baiting a response

He did add the caveat that the club would appeal if he was banned. I suspect the double jepordy rule he mentions would be a major issue, if the FA want to seen to be doing something they can give him a suspended sentence then if it happens again he's toast.

Their issue would be that the club has been punished, twice. If you ban any of the analysts or Operations manager for arguments sake the club can cover those individual bans. If you ban the manager for any length of time that impacts the whole club.....and we've, as i said, already been impacted twice.

At some point you have to stop shooting the dead man.

They are a fan base that seem to relish in 'winning' off the pitch in the court rooms than on it, celebrating that they almost put Derby into liquidation with the ill timed compensation claim . They don't mind the constant failure of poor managerial appointments because Gibbo is the cult master who can string the morons along. What will be the excuses next season when they fail to gain promotion next season? No doubt it'll be someone else's fault.
