He’s not been prolific and out of favour at Millwall so expect this to be shot down but I really like Mihailo Ivanovic. Could see him suiting our style.

Zan Vipotnik from Swansea although he may attract interest from Premier League clubs.

Not really interested in that sort of massive overpay, especially after we've screwed up and lost stewart for free.

We get that you are annoyed about Ross Stewart but saying it countless times wont change it. If Dragan is serious about producing an exciting team that will get bums off seats and win promotion we need to be aiming at signing quality - doesn't mean we have to massively overpay.

Tall? Physical?

Kyle Hudlin.

Kyle Hudlin from Solihull Moors to Huddersfield: What do we know so far? Is it likely to happen?

Nice touch for a  big man. He's 6'9" and said to be the world's tallest footballer. Cyle and Kyle twin strikers, what's not to like 🙂

He was top quality last season, if the price is right I would happily take him

Agree and, as you say, he's not been prolific but Millwall were not big scorers and maybe he'd get more goals in our set up. One worth considering for sure and he's a Serb - come on Dragan, have a word.

How about that Brazilian striker from Goztepe - Juan or something like that I think it is?  Apparently he's only valued at £12-15M - they got him from somewhere for a real steal.  He's been banging them in.

Salech from Cardiff -but he might be expensive now - and there may be issues with Peretz being Israeli as Salech has a Palestinian background I think. Should have bought him instead of Downs.

Kaspar Hogh - or is he too highly rated for the Championship now?

Using the Serbian connection how about Jovan Milosevic from Werder Bremen?

Vipotnik, off the back of one stellar championship season would be a massive overpay.

Dragan can be as serious as he likes, he still needs to balance the books

So somehow you know his transfer cost if he does move? Do you have tonight's lottery numbers?

No just a reasonable assumption when talking about a 24 year old who scored 30 goals with a contract through to 2030.

Bit of a conflict in your descriptions of him perhaps even if both agree on his potential.

If you’re talking of Millwall strikers, Coburn looked pretty useful, and might have displaced Ivanovic towards the end of the season.

Reading about them reports say Millwall  paid £2.8m and £5m. Goes to show there is some quality available in some markets. But not £5m+ on Damion Downs.

Jatta from Notts County looks a good finisher but it may be too much of a stretch in term of quality although the same was probably said for Ivan Toney (although he came from an established academy) As a back up he would be more competent than Downes

Could be looking at a couple of strikers if we don’t retain Stewart and manage to shift Brereton Diaz, Downs and Archer. Would have thought we’d be open to offers on all three of them

Would have thought we’d be looking to push two of them (BBD and Downs) out of the door

Good shout.

I've heard he's good in tight spaces, explosive in the box, but can sometimes be a bit sloppy with his finishing.

God, some of the posters on here are so immature. I was being serious!

I doubt that he would come though...

Koki Ogawa from Nijmegen (NEC) is a very handy player. Watched them a lot this season, but we might struggle to prize him away as they had a brilliant season and managed to make the champions league. Maybe not prolific enough with 8 in 26, but his all round play has been superb and with good supply he could do a job with Larin.

Until we know what is going to happen with Stewart this thread seems premature.

Talk of a fee in the region of £12-15m in January and £15-20m now. Premier League teams allegedly interested along with clubs like Sporting.

Tomas Bobcek was linked to us at the tail end of the January window.

I’m still on this season 😅 i was referring to 24/25. Fair point about talent being about though - the American forward Derby signed looked much better than Downs!

Göztepe'nin Brezilyalı forveti Juan mıydı neydi acaba? Sanırım adı böyleydi. Piyasa değeri sadece 12-15 milyon sterlin civarındaymış, çok ucuza almışlar. Gol yağdırıyor.

Cardiff'ten Salech -ama şu an pahalı olabilir- ve Peretz'in İsrailli olması sorun yaratabilir çünkü Salech'in Filistinli bir geçmişi olduğunu düşünüyorum. Downs yerine onu almalıydık.

Kaspar Hogh - yoksa şu an Championship için fazla mı yüksek değerlendiriliyor?

Sırp bağlantısını kullanarak Werder Bremen'den Jovan Milosevic'e ne dersiniz?

Juan isn't suitable for a lone striker role; he'll probably transfer to Champions League team Lille for 20 million euros. You need strikers who are 1.85m tall or taller. If you have a budget of 20-25 million euros, I would try to get Álvaro Rodriguez; he's very similar to Romulo.

Seems he's valued at way less than 20-25m Euros.

Yeah, he should have done much more  in the 3 championship games he played in, at an average of 10 minutes per game... ;)

Context mate. I didn't say he should have scored a goal!

But from what I saw (two in person), he wasn't involved in the game

Maybe a bit harsh from me but a loan out could be best.

Coventry had three very good strikers last season in Wright, Thomas-Asante, and Simms. They probably go with those three as good enough for the Prem, but if they bring in another then one of the three might be available.

Two of them are going into the last year of their contracts, and the one most likely to be available is the youngest, cheapest, and most efficient last season on minutes per goal, Ellis Simms.

Might be too expensive though. Looking at other tall strikers going into the last year of their contracts...

Andrej Ilic is a Serb who registered five goals and ten assists in the Bundesliga last year. He scored seven in sixteen the year before when on loan from Lille. Forest and Coventry are rumoured to be in for him. If he forces Wood, Awoniyi, or Simms out, those dominoes falling might lead for an option for us.

Kevin Rodriguez is in the Brighton system at Union SG in Belgium. That Brighton scouting setup can find a South American or three, and after a knee injury ended his first season there and his second season was shit he went alright (eight in 21) last season.

Jesus Ramirez scored 18 in 33 in the Portuguese top flight as sometime captain of bottom-half side Nacional.

If you’re not afraid of the German second division after Damion Downs, Isac Lidberg has a couple of good season at that level under his belt. Though you do have to query why he hasn't been picked up by a top flight side. A couple of younger strikers who outperformed his 17 in 30 last season are Mateusz Zukowski and Noel Futkeu. All three have German top flight suitors; Frankfurt have activated their buyback clause on Futkeu and are rumoured to be interested in Zukowski, while Monchengladbach are apparently interested in all three.

Looking at the cheap option of free agents, Jonas Wind is leaving Wolfsburg. He’s a Danish international, and he’d be a proper Ross Stewart replacement on the basis of his multiple muscle injuries last season. (Seriously though, if he’s fit...)

One for the future is 22yo, 1.97m Serbian Marko Milovanovic. He’s on the books of Spanish club Almeira who are currently in the La Liga 2 promotion playoffs, but had his first season of decent minutes in men’s football (he’s 22) in Portugal last season. Nine in 31 is decent, but more decent when he only played 1500 minutes. The year before he made some bench appearances in La Liga 2 and only played 60 minutes plus in the three Copa Del Rey games, which included a goal and assist vs Sevilla.

We were linked with a young Croatian striker at the end of the January window. IIRC there were bigger fish circling but I wonder if we might go back in for him, especially if we see light up top.
