Matthew Le God Posted 20 February, 2010 Share Posted 20 February, 2010 Saints can still get 88 points this season. I can't see that starting 11 losing many games in the 3rd tier. Automatic promotion not out of the question.
saint lard Posted 20 February, 2010 Share Posted 20 February, 2010 Bloody superb result. Clean sheet and a great display by all accounts. Quite relieved Barnard got on the scoresheet.

S-Clarke Posted 20 February, 2010 Share Posted 20 February, 2010 happy days - the perfect away performance, against the team top of the league and top of the form table. if we can beat Norwich so comfortably in their own back yard, then we can beat anyone in L1. - that has to give us so much belief. i still think the playoffs are too far off, so i'm just going to enjoy the games between now and the end of the season...let's see where we end up. Saint Fan CaM Posted 20 February, 2010 Share Posted 20 February, 2010 Great win! And that's off the back of a 1-4 loss to the mongs down the road. AP has done a great job bringing in all the right pieces of the jigsaw to make us a fantastic team - in fact the best team in this league.

alpine_saint Posted 20 February, 2010 Share Posted 20 February, 2010 Result of the season so far by a long way, and sounds like the performance of the season too. Very good reaction to losing to the blue slime as well. Real pity about the stupid yellows - hope they dont cost us in later games.
Sheaf Saint Posted 20 February, 2010 Share Posted 20 February, 2010 Happy happy happy. To go away to the league-leaders who are in superb form and give them a lesson in how to play football getting a clean sheet in the process - you can't ask for better than that! Yate Saint Posted 20 February, 2010 Share Posted 20 February, 2010 Great win and sounds like a great performance all round. Lots of positives including Barnard getting 2. He will settle now and score more and more (and so will Lambert).

Red Alert Posted 20 February, 2010 Share Posted 20 February, 2010 My dear old Nan is a Norwich ST holder. Will phone her tonight and give her some ****. Well done AP that looks like your strongest team and they proved it today. Good on Barnard getting in the goals, hopefully that fecking slouch Lambert sorts his act out and gets himself a couple next week.

Genk Posted 20 February, 2010 Share Posted 20 February, 2010 Great result. Shows we are good enough. Just got to keep it up. Playoffs are too far off for this season but for the remainder of this season our team can gel for next year. Lambert, Barnard, Puncheon & Lallana, probably the top attack four in league 1. Legod Third Coming Posted 20 February, 2010 Share Posted 20 February, 2010 Saints can still get 88 points this season. I can't see that starting 11 losing many games in the 3rd tier. Automatic promotion not out of the question. Auto is out, both of those teams will score more than 90, probably more than 100. Play-offs is ok if we can make it to 85 by my forecasting... Although my red hot streak went tits up at Haydock and Ascot today...!

Saint Charlie Posted 20 February, 2010 Share Posted 20 February, 2010 Not enough pace in the line up, too many bookings. Only 5th away win this season. Poor. I am glad Im not one of the moaners! bet they are disappointed! Great result, pleased for Pards, he has done a great job and any criticism is very harsh. Puncheon sounded good and great for Barnard to score.
.comsaint Posted 20 February, 2010 Share Posted 20 February, 2010 I have a lob-on. Superb display from each & every man. Grafted away - stuck to the game plan - and got the rewards. Should & could have been 4 or 5 but for the woodwork. You don't get a better feeling on a saturday than Saints winning away at the league leaders! A few beers tonight methinks. Well done lads - and well done Pards for keeping the same team for 90 mins. Don't bodge it up & ring numerous changes on tuesday night though will you Alan! dubai_phil Posted 20 February, 2010 Share Posted 20 February, 2010 Excellent Go away to the top team in the league and have well over 50% possession and hit the post twice. Saints foreva Posted 20 February, 2010 Share Posted 20 February, 2010 Great win! Sounds like we actually played football for a change and it paid off - BIG TIME. Very happy for Barnard, was a little worried that he was missing chance after chance but this could just kick start his Southampton season. Well done to Pardew, the lads and the supporters who made the trip up there!
SamKimish Posted 20 February, 2010 Share Posted 20 February, 2010 The two goals will do the world of good to Barnard's confidence, he looked like he was getting frustrated at not scoring so today will come as a relief. Brilliant result, completely reignites our play off hopes in the same way a loss would have given us very little chance of promotion.

SW11_Saint Posted 20 February, 2010 Share Posted 20 February, 2010 Great win and great performance - against the runaway form team of the Division. Sends out a message that we are a force, let's just hope it enables us to slip into the play-off places. Our performance last week was superb, and we've carried it on (and this time got the result we deserved!). Well done Pards and the lads. All I need now is Pompey 0 Stoke 5 (Beattie 3, Delap, Higginbottom) and my day is complete! Not too much to ask, surely?!
Saint Billy Posted 20 February, 2010 Share Posted 20 February, 2010 Well done boys, we still have an outside chance if we can keep winning and the teams above show some inconsistency.

itchen_dan Posted 20 February, 2010 Share Posted 20 February, 2010 Absolutely Superb result: 1) Clean Sheet 2) Seemed so comfortable for the whole match 3) Barnard finally has the goals his work rate has deserved and it takes the pressure off Lambert to do it all by himself Extremely pleased tonight now lets push on and see where our performances take us. (PS - Cortese will be happy considering he wanted the team to get back to winning ways today!!)
