Brighton build up

Didn't realise they had lost LuaLua as well.

Only changes I think worth considering:

Barnard - only on fitness.

Ox-C, maybe let Holmes start to rest Ox-C and use as sub - think Adkins is trying to bring him in slowly and Holmes is very good.

some brighton fans are fearing the worst here......wobble wobble springs to mind.

Beat me to it DD.

They do seem a tad nervous. I just want us to smash em to be honest. Really get them looking over their shoulders in the next few games. Was going to mention Corporal Jones's famous saying but then realised its Brighton!

We may be playign them at the right time.

There wasn't anything wrong with our team y/day, so i wouldn't change a thing - even the order of the subs worked.

Brighton are without their CB as said above, and also their other CB, Greer was subbed with an injury so they may be giving a 17 year old his debut.

If we play with high tempo and belief we will win. If Brighton park the bus we might not have such a great evening. Based on how Poyet expects them to play, we should go with the same team as it worked well against Posh. Expecting a draw to be honest, but if it's true some of their better players are out we might get that win which will really open things up at the top. Exciting match whatever the outcome I suspect.

Same again please - Brighton are there for the taking at the mo'. Faint heart never one fair maiden. Out of the blocks quickly and a high tempo and we'll beat them.

Never one fair maiden in Pompey perhaps :-)

For those saying don't change a winning side, do you go with the starting XI or the team that finished? I assume Barny will play, seems like he was taken off as a precaution to protect his on-going "pelvic area" issues. Personally I would start with Holmes and be prepared to bring on Oxo as an impact sub. Otherwise start with the team that started yesterday. Question is whether Jaidi is able to start 2 games in 4 days. Have to keep plugging away with Lambert, his link up play with Barny is excellent and eventually his luck/form will return

Give Holmes a start, even if he gets injured we can bring on Chamberlain but the other way round we loose them both, Guly droopes a gooley yesterday alright whereas Lambo played his part as a holding whatever so keep Lambo in with Barney at least for starters.

Davies could face a very busy evening so too hot a kitchen for a young Pole

Probably posted elswhere but just noticed the last 8 Saints goals have been scored by 8 different players :- Connolly, Lallana (Shrews) Chamberlain, Hammond (Carlisle) Barnard, Fonte, Chaplow, Guly (yesterday). What price Lambert, Jaidi, Dickson and Richardson to score tomorrow night?

The game isn't tomorrow...;)

Need to win tuesday just to stand still league position wise. Bournemouth , Carlisle , Charlton , Colchester , Huddersfield , Peterborough , and Sheffield Wednesday all have winable home games.

Back them all on an accumulator and I guarantee you at least one of them will mess up! ;)

This.

A six pointer at this stage of the season. A win will really signal our intentions and get all the other teams looking over their shoulders. It will be very interesting if all the other results conspire and go our way!

Don't and never will agree with the "don't change a winning team" thing. No two games are ever the same and if NA feels a change of personnel or shape is required he should do it. Especially with 2 games in 4 days. Holmes in for AOC for me. If we don't give Holmes a chance now we never will.

I didn't make it on Sat. Interested to hear how Holmes approached the right wing role - did he cut in a lot or did he go outside and use the right boot to cross it?

Saints helped finish off my accumulator yesterday so pretty happy, quite long odds. But just put half the winnings on beating brighton at evens.

We will. Won't we...

It's vital to take advantage of two home games in a few days anyway, but very tough in reality.

That's it. We've lost before we've even kicked off. 4-1 to Brighton.

FFS, I was gonna give him odds of 100-1.

He used his right foot to cross on one occasion. We may have a ready made replacement for Punch. His set pieces were top notch too.

KD

Richardson Seabourne Fonte Dickson

Lallana Chaplow Hammond Holmes

Lambert Barnard

Subs: Bart, Harding, Jaidi, Morgan, Oxo, Guly, Connolly

Is the team I expect will start the game. Jaidi is not fit enough to start again and we don't wanna risk burning out Oxo too early. This also allows AL and Holmes to swap wings with two attacking fullbacks to fill in the space should they cut inside. Oxo and Guly will give us impact from the bench and Morgan can come on to steady the ship if we are leading in the last 20

This football management lark is a piece of **** ;)
