WHEN we get promoted, this will be the game we look back on. Fantastic result and I am so so pleased tonight with the character we showed. Starting to believe...

there is hope if you are starting to believe....its games like this that give us hope that it is our year..

what a game..started well..then they go 2-0 up either side of HT..

then we fuking steam rollered them...

sounded like a top of the table clash should sound like..end to end and credit to MK Dons it seems.....did not park the bus and nearly got a point...

we are going to do it this aren't we.....please......would love to have been there today

on thing you cant slate adkins for....he again changed it to a postive effect...and we really do have character in this team.....superb stuff

Cannot believe this result! Stuck at work today so couldn't make the game, I've been in a terrible mood since they went one nil up, then two nil, ffs, game over, check the score two minutes ago and we've scored 3! Incredible!

Now I'm even happy to be working! I love work! I love Southampton FC! :D Come on you f***ing reds.

Wow. Unbelievable scenes, this is the sort of thing that always happened against us!

I really think we will do this now.

Notes for improvement: Score more goals in the 1st half Saints. You're a danger to my heart's well being.

Problem now is that I have raised my hopes slightly and started looking at the championship table. Watch us lose loads now and fail to win promotion and p*ss me off. Going to enjoy that excellent victory tonight though. Great character shown by the lads. Barnard is a hero.

Brilliant.

I thought we'd struggle today, many did. We don't handle breaks well. Many teams don't, we sounded rusty and they took advantage, but persistence and quality got us through. Well done to everyone, especially Adkins, brilliant subs and they never gave up. Mk dons have a great away record so it was tough without coming back from 0-2. Couldn't have asked for more really, great spirit, a reality check and a shock for the players, goals for forte.

But what of our fans? The match threads are getting embarrassing. We expect it from alpine, that's just trolling, but seeing so many others write us off and moan, criticise the team, Adkins, question everything, its pathetic. It's one game! Well it's not even that, it was one hour! You couldn't handle one hour of getting turned over by a rival. It happens. It's a tough league. If we'd lost, I bet the bookies would still have us favourites for 2nd. It would still be possible. Christ, if it were p'boro in our position and they'd lost today, we'd still make them favourites. But when it comes to saints we write them off at the drop of a hat.

The squad is more than good enough. Anyone attending a few games can see that. But the expectation is high and the games are tough, everyone fighting for points, desperate to turn us over. So it's a hard slog to the finish line. Let's try a little perspective and maybe stick to support for the remaining games. We will lose again I'm sure, but I'm sure we'll get 2nd. A managerial change or squad overhaul is the last thing we need.

And very well done to johnny forte, who wasn't good enough apparently after playing about half an hour. IMO he's already been a worthwhile signing just for the impact today, brilliant.

+1

stuck in Luanda, couldn't get to the game, agree some of the characters on here want shooting>

Absolutely delighted with that. I wasn't raging and writing off our promotion hopes after MK Dons went 2 up, but I certainly didn't expect us to come back and win the game. More than happy to be proved well and truly wrong.

The manner of this comeback, although not desirable (you'd prefer to win games by dominating throughout), does give us a great deal of momentum which I think is very important and with the games coming thick and fast now, it really does give us a fantastic platform to get the job done.

"the character we showed"? I'd be more comfortable if you changed that pronoun for "the players".

We shouldn't have gone two nil down. Two sucker punches really.

But great, great character from the team.

Seems the wrist slitters were out in force on here, but the crowd at St Marys were great even at 0-2.

We are now very heavy favourites for automatic promotion.

Great game. Great day.

Wow wow wow, that was both the BEST and hardest to watch second half ever for me... I was a nervous wreck towards the end lol

Haven't seen scenes like that at St marys where the team look like they've won the league and the whole stadium clapping right till last player disappeared down the tunnel. Absolutely brilliant.

I'd say coming back from 2 down will do more for the collective confidence/team spirit than a comfortable 2 or 3 goal margin would have done. It sends out a real message to those around us that you are going to struggle to keep us down and if we are a goal or two down again in the run in we will now know that we can do it.... and so will the opposition.

Huddersfield and P'Borough must have been rubbing their hands at 2 down but will be properly gutted to see us come back from that to pick up all 3 points!! I thought we'd get the draw but never thought we'd pull this out of the bag.

Really good win and great to see Forte come good, those goals alone justify his signing IMHO. We sounded more solid with Stephens on the pitch although I didn't hear him mentioned much... any good?

Man Up Eric FFS.

Been well and truly put through the wringer and am now emotionally and physically totally drained (out in the sun all day and 4 London Prides may also have helped!!) - but have to admit having tears in my eyes when the 2nd & 3rd goals went in and when the final whistle went.

Glad nobody else was in the house this afternoon - but the neighbours must be wondering what the hell was going on.

When we get back to the Prem we are all going to miss days like today!!

Worth pointing out that we now have a 10 point gap between us and 7th so Play offs should really be assured barring a massive collapse.

Still confident of getting 2nd though

But more importantly for the wrist slitters are we mathmatically safe from relegation FFS

My eyes welled up too after the third and my palms were killing me after clapping furiously. Sounds like you would have been a mess if you were there lol

I deliberately found something else to do this afternoon (I did the winter tyre exchange on my cars) because I woke up today with a deep sense of foreboding about this one.

Thank f**k we had the strength and luck to dig ourselves out the mess we go into.

Why cant we start games from the first whistle, FFS ?
